How long does a charged battery last and what is the lifespan of the rechargeable battery? Can you buy a replacement battery?
@wicked_digger Жыл бұрын
I dont believe you can buy a replacement battery. I would typically go on 3 hunts that were roughly 4-7 hours on the same charge and would still have battery to go. I always charged it after 3 hunts no matter what so it wouldn't ever die on me. I have been using mine for over 3.5 years now and still strong all around! I'm not positive of the lifespan but will matter on how you charge it and take care of it. I used mine at least 3 days a week

How deep does it go? I still got my old Whites from 1986 with a round coil. Does the simplex have the double D coil ?
@wicked_digger2 жыл бұрын
Yes it does have the DD coil, 11 inch stock. It is a deep machine. I suppose it could vary of course on soil conditions, however, I have found a 1838 seated liberty half dime at 11 inches, an Indian Cent at 12", 2 different shoe buckles at 11+ and many more 8+ inch good relics and coins. It's a great machine, takes some time to learn as it is very sensitive/powerful. Honestly worth double the money all day.

what has your battery life been now 2.5 years later. no mention of battery recharge rates or life????
@wicked_digger2 жыл бұрын
It will last me three 4 hour hunts no problem. Haven't had any issues with the battery on the unit. Recently it died on me while I was out, but I used it on a couple hunts and didn't even check the charge state of it. On a dead battery, it takes about 3 hours or less to fully charge. Typically, I charge mine after every 2 hunts no matter what.

Had my Simplex for a little while and I am going to sell it and get a Vanquish. Too complicated and weak. Just my opinion. Thank you for the video.
@wicked_digger Жыл бұрын
Wow, I have honestly never heard anyone say either of those things about the simplex! How long have you had it? I have dug some impressive depths for great coins and relics with my simplex. It's very simple to use also. I think you may be more confused with a vanquish, multi frequency will make it way more complicated and more options and buttons to set. I ran my simplex in Park 1, 1 notch from full sensitivity and iron audio on 1. Set ground balance and go. I don't notch anything out. Never had to touch anything but the power button basically. Good luck! I'd love to know what you decide and what your thoughts are. I would honestly use my suggested settings above and give it some more time. Depending on what dealership/package you get, the vanquish is @ $400 -$500, I'd personally upgrade to the Legend if anything. Definitely a ton of settings and can be a learning curve but a extremely capable machine for $500
@spreadgeorgia Жыл бұрын
@@wicked_digger Hello Wicked_digger, I am 68 years old and retired. I had the Bounty Hunter for about 20 years and getting used to the Simplex is uncomfortable. Ground balancing, listening to the tones and watching the numbers fluctuate is confusing. My hearing is impaired as well. I understand the Vanquish 340 and 440 are easier to operate right out of the box. No ground balancing and automatic high iron bias. I live in a small town in Georgia in an old cow pasture that has not been used for livestock in 80 years so the area has high iron with pieces of fence wire. That is the main reason I am selling the Simplex and going for something I can use easier. The smaller coil was recommended to me, but I don't want to put 126 more dollars in this machine, when I could put that money toward the 440 which comes with a 10 inch coil.

My main coin hunting machine is the Eurotek Pro with Mars Tiger coil on it,,so far it seems to eek coins quicker with more stable ID,,simplex goes deeper on air test and seems to have faster recovery,,maybe to fast,falsing on iron missing the coin around 8" depth. Have only 30 hrs or so on the Simplex,,but that's what I'm seeing, jumpy ID,,Eurotek does not lie,stable ID to 10". Eurotek suffers around EMI,,where simplex handles it better. Maybe so 24 coil would be better for simplex, but I like looking for deeper coins so I dont know. All I can say is of right now if I only had an hour at yard with known older coins in it I would grab Eurotek. Simplex finds them also,you just have to fish around more,,kinda time consuming.
@wicked_digger2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. I've had my simplex quite a while now and know it extremely well. I found a seated half dime 11 inches down no problem. I feel like my vdi is pretty accurate and of course, many conditions can change vdi, coin/relic orientation, soilconditions, etc. I also found an Indian Cent 12 inches deep. Both stock coil. The SP24 is a amazing coil in trash and iron. It still goes deep, I dig 6-8 inch targets all day with SP24. For me personally I don't go much by VDI, strictly a guideline, I go by tone and use my ears to discriminate. I do love my coins but as long as they are old lol. I really enjoy a good relic, button, something personal to someone long ago. For a single frequency machine, it is amazing and has fast recovery speed.

I do not have enough hours on the simplex,,I'm hoping once I start mastering it,,I can go to a site where i have limited time on and quickly bang em out. All my test garden test I did the simplex wins,,so I'm sure it's me the user, who needs to learn what's its telling me. The tones fool me alot, but with more hours on it I'm sure that will change.
@wicked_digger2 жыл бұрын
@@markdoehrman4447 I think in more time you will like it better. I have over one thousand hours on mine and questioned its capabilities while learning it also...I have no more questions 🤣 I run mine in Park 1, 1 notch from full sensitivity, iron audio on 1 and set GB and go. If there's ever an issue with erratic GB because of emi or tough soil, set it to 90.1 GB, it seems to always be happy there. I run it this way 99% of the time. I love the tones in this setting too. Field is slightly deeper but not by much.
