Hi Promise, I'm one of those people who used to consume your content without suscribing. But this is one of the best sessions ever, and because of these two ladies, I subscribed. You know what "good conversation"❤ I loved it so much, and it is not far-fetched. Our mothers and fathers are/were a living proof. In this case, I am Shakina, and my mom and stepmother used to get along like the house on fire(may their souls rest in peace). At that time, I grew up not knowing that my stepmother was my father's ex-wife and only found out about it when I was 14/ 15 years old. My stepbrothers used to visit my house, and they got along well with my mom. I was the only one who didn't know that they were my brothers, I thought we related, but I never knew it was that close. One day, a friend of mine asked me how are we related, and I just said to her their father and my father are brothers (she laughed at me, like she knew something) later that day I asked my mom how are we related to my stepbrothers and she said ask your dad. My dad came back from work, and I asked him. He stood up and said to me, "Sit here, I'm coming just now." He went and took a file from his wardrobe with photos and started explaining that he was married before and things didn't work and he had 4 kids with my stepmother who I thought was my Mamogolo (who was really nice to me, not even once I saw her shouting) he showed me photos of their marriage and photos of my step brother when they were young. Then he said to me, "I am now married to your mother, and you were born. I didn't even know that my mother's kids were my half brothers and sisters. I grew up in a big warm home, my brothers from my father's side, and my brothers and sisters from my mother's side got along so well. Even now, with our parents not around anymore (may their souls continue to rest in eternal peace), they get along so well. When there's a gathering, you would think they are from the same mom and dad. They love each other, and I am also happy to see them loving each other like that. I don't have to choose a side, I know either way I'm loved from both sides of the family. Even my stepmother's sisters are so nice to me. I love your podcast. Keep doing what you are doing and let SA grow and get healed through your content. Let us raise a healthy society, not angry kids and unstable families/ people. It is up to us now as parents to be subtle. Situations happen, but we need to heal from everything for the sake of our kids.

Mhm you know as someone who grew up in a born again Christian family and is a Christian I struggle so much with how often our faith & the word is used to enable patriarchy and how Christian women are somewhat always manipulated into letting so much slide all in the name of being Christian. I wonder if it were two Christian men in the position of these ladies would things have played out the same way.
@TheDesignedLifeWithShiloh4 ай бұрын
I hear you Sis. I don't know what 2 Christian men would have done and I honestly don't care as I do not base my obedience to Christ on societal norms. I wouldn't advance the cause of Christ that way. Also forgiveness and living in peace are what Christ offered us. We accepted His offer and live a far peaceful and purposeful life because of it. We pray for men and women to look unto Jesus.

Co-parenting takes a lot. Whether things happened in the dating phase or in marriage. Everyone needs to heal and come to terms with the fact that it’s not about the parents, but the child. The healing takes time and some just never come to that point and it’s sad.. So sad that some parents are still hurt to a point where they just can’t heal for the sake of the child..I wish people could just let go and raise their children in healthy environments. It’s not easy, but it’s doable if you are willing. This was beautiful to watch❤️

We do not see the world as it is. We see the world as we are. You see an inability of human beings to co-exist in peace simply because they once shared a man. That's limiting. We see the world through the unlimited lenses of growth, living in harmony, learning functionality from our mistakes and forgiveness. Also, we never purpoted to be best friends. It's a greater relationship than that. Thank you for watching and may God heal any part of you that has remained stunted.

@@TheDesignedLifeWithShiloh That man remained the hill. Did y'all date and marry Jesus? But it's okay. I'll be just here in my little corner missing the point 🥹 when we disagree with y'all then 'we missed the point'🤣 always.
@TheDesignedLifeWithShiloh4 ай бұрын
@flowerlindz your takeaway from this entire interview was the man Sis. He is actually the least part of our story, but to you he is the greatest point cause according to you, it's impossible for us to be friends because of him and I'm trying to show you that our perceptions are not similar. Where you see a man, we see beyond the man. We see Jesus. We see our child. We see our family. We see nations healed because of our story. We see babymama's and stepmama's healing and focusing on what matters most, our personal healing and the healing of our families. So my point is, the man is important to you and should have remained directing our paths and cause us to hate each other, which is obvious according to your comment that, that's what you would have done and stood for if you were in our situation. We choose civility, healing and the prosperity of our souls through Jesus, that is why Jesus is the hill we chose to die on. Had we chosen to die on the hill of a man we would have hated each other as you suggest. Your very comment suggests that for you, the hill you would have died on when it comes to a choice on whether to forgive and love another woman, the fact that you would have once shared a man would have made that decision easy for you. You would have allowed the man factor to decide hatred or distance from that woman. Between you and us, who then actually is the one who dies on the hill of a man? Do you see what I meant when I said, we see the world as we are? No man will make me hate or distance myself from another woman. Jesus does not advocate for that and Jesus is the hill we chose to die on.
