Great start to the show. I tend to be pessimistic, so anything I say comes from that perspective. I find it hard to be optimistic about this team. If we lose Goldschmidt and Arenado, the infield defense will not be a fraction of what it is now. Outside of Winn (who I believe is potentially an elite talent), I see a bunch of midling, okay players that might be nice pieces if you had a lot elite talent around them, but aren't going to win you anything on their own. As far as Nolan goes, as you both said, it's not that surprising that a deal is not done considering Bregman is still out there. IMO, there will be two windows where the interest in Nolan will ramp up...first will be right after Bregman is signed and the second will be mid-season when one of the big wallet teams gets desperate in the pennant race. So Polo may well be right about Arenado reporting to Jupiter in a couple of months. Lastly, congratulations and good luck on this venture and thank you for continuing to bring great coverage for Cardinal fans.

The Cardinals need to leverage Arenado to at least get a minor league pitcher on par with Mc Greevy. I understand the Cardinals are in reset and want Gorman to play third base. I think if such a trade cannot be made then keep Arenado as the DH and still play him some at third base. Understanding his new role with the Cardinals will likely influence his future decision making.

Loved Polo's take on Helsley. I thought for sure he was gone, but hey, so did everyone except Polo. Kudos! I never saw the star closer market being this depressed. Personally I'm ecstatic Helsley is staying, time to sign him to an extension!
@zodiacz37375 күн бұрын
I like the idea of keeping Helsley as a lockdown closer and a “home grown” leader for young guys in the bullpen.
@alanzemsky76956 күн бұрын
If the Yankees signed Goldschmidt, would they also perhaps pick up Arenado too?
@alexjaeger69856 күн бұрын
I love Helsley and think the he would be an awesome lifetime Cardinal, but his free agency window is coming at the wrong time. The Cardinals aren't known for spending, and especially at a time when the team is cutting payroll.

Alec Burleson will be a name to watch next year. People forget... he carried the offense for the better part of last season

IMHO Burly should be our everyday first baseman. Contreras should be catching.

Why did Cardinal fans ever expect Arenado to get a decent return? It’s a salary dump
@clevelandwelsh6 күн бұрын
Sorry, but this isn't JUST Nado's future...It is completely within Nado's right to nix the trade. Likewise, the Cards are within their rights to not enthusiastically pursue another trade only to have Nado say, "nah, I want to wait some more." It doesn't work for either Prom Dates or baseball trades.
@Wegotthemeats1876 күн бұрын
That was an absolutely stupid take with Ryan Helsley, there is zero chance the Cardinals are going to offer him $100 million to resign that’s why you need to trade him. Does anybody in the comment section remember Dylan Carlson….
@willgio67886 күн бұрын
Yeah parts of the take don’t make sense. I will say; he’s right about “don’t accept a low ball offer” if that’s all that is being offered. I hope that they are listening on both helsley and Fedde, but given that Arenado isn’t going to bring back much prospect value, I don’t want them to ship other players for the sake of doing so.
@DanielDowling6 күн бұрын
They better trade him at the deadline if they aren't moving him now. Huge risk to not do it now
@georgesouthwick70005 күн бұрын
Now, he will either get traded to one of the 6 teams on his list, or stay in St. Louis…..no mystery.
@BillDownton6 күн бұрын
Sorry but when Helsley not going to sign for less than 100 million and at the end he walks and we get nothing
@johnries31216 күн бұрын
Polo is mis-informed, once the Bergman chip falls, a a Nolan trade will be completed, IMO.
@jackiemoon59065 күн бұрын
That’s literally an opinion how is he mis informed?
@johnries31215 күн бұрын
Polo seems convinced that Nolan will be a St Louis Cardinals in 2025. Check out the landscape, most everyone believes there is a 90% chance if not more that Nolan will be traded
@joshuameyer1382Күн бұрын
These two are higher on Pages than Herrera?? Okay... Pages should get traded before the deadline to create space for Crooks. Cardinals farm is heavy with catching talent.

I like his idea of Ms. Woo leaving to go elsewhere. Does she realize that Cardinals fans pay her salary and keep her job? And how does she act towards those very fans and organization? She is so so negative. Go elsewhere. Also toots, do you realize its very easy to be negative. Hard to be a nice person whos friendly. you are a very negative person. Go cover the A's, Marlins, Rays, Pirates, Reds, White Sox, etc... bye bye.

It’s so lovely to see the reporter who goes on the foul territory podcast and mocks the cardinals organization, the fans and the city of St. Louis every chance she gets along with the hosts of foul territory. I do love how she and the hosts constantly mock the fans and the organization but then kiss Cardinals management asses to their face. Not going to watch this with her or the podcast that just mocks the fans of St Louis. So fake they are. Best of luck with your non-sense low-budget podcast. I wouldn’t be watching and I hope the other cardinals fans watch someone else who doesn’t enjoy mocking them. Be better!
@patrickfleming56645 күн бұрын
Smug and arrogant. Unbearable to watch these two. Btw, hear Katie Woo say that Mo normally doesn’t say publicly that he is going to trade someone. Excuse Ms. Woo, kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpDYhXuBfNeEp7ssi=2fgV7_-KyUtFTgDk.
@patrickfleming56645 күн бұрын
He did the exact same thing last year with Tyler O’Neill. She makes stuff up while mocking the organization. Terrible reporter and smug person. No thanks.
