I haven't seen the movie yet but Geeta is a book only touched after washing hands with lord Krishna in mind forgetting all other distractions. This routine is followed in my family along with perhaps many Hindus across the word. Nolan ignoring this cannot be considered a mistake. It is as simple as it gets. If He focused that much on Oppenheimer's romantic interest then he should have also focused on his spiritual interests it says a lot about a man.

If you can read a book called bishwasghatak by Narayan Sanyal. He wrote this event as a novel in 1974. At that age where in India there was low knowledge media and sources. He explained it and nailed it. But now everyone saying about christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer. But I read that novel in 2009. But in the movie they didn't show us that one of the scientist named Klaus Fuchs who supplied the atomic information to Soviet union from USA. And it is hilarious that he send the information which contains more than 100 pages into the packet of a cigarette in 1/2 folded page.

Fun fact: There is a reason why you must have always seen indian music like sitars etc being played in a drug/ erotic scene, it's because in the 60s The greatest band of all time the "Beatles" came to India and experimented with indian music, around this time the band allegedly started taking lsd(drug) and the "nasha" they got from it was clearly heard in their music when their songs suddenly turned psychedelic and "trippy", the band even used Indian instuments in these songs, now of course as the band and their songs were literally the biggest and the most famous thing till date, their influence gave the foreign audiences a kinda wrong vibe about indian music, thus they knowingly or subconsciously, started associating indian music with things like drugs and erotism etc ...And this has been continuing ever since..
