I "believe" they did the same thing with him that they did with Anne Rice when she said Tom Cruise couldn't play _Lestat,_ so they wined and dined her to make her change her mind, otherwise, her opinion would impact ticket sales...the same as when Nolen said, "he can't see the people they cast being the characters"...and suddenly he got "exclusive" access, among other things...and now he thinks they've done a fantastic job with the casting. They know he could cut 10's of millions, if not more, in ticket sales, if he's not "happy". A cameo won't be enough to make people who are unhappy with the casting go and see this in theaters...

When Nolan was indoctrinated into a official Goonie his happiness sparked my soul man. That was awesome! It’s great when Nolan acknowledged Uncharted is kinda Goonies (spoiler alert) when I was playing Uncharted 4 years ago for the first time and you finally find Henry Avery’s ship hanging on a rope and that music kicks in. I get goose bumps talking about it. I absolutely felt like a Goonie. Such a awesome moment and definitely my fav games of all time

I said this on Twitter, but seeing Nolan North talk with Sean Astin couldn't be better timing as I was replaying LEGO Lord of the Rings (PC version; I also played the 360 version and I have the Wii version) recently, as that game has both of their voices. Plus LOTR's ensemble casting (Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Dominic Monaghan, Billy Boyd, Viggo Mortensen, Orlando Bloom in his second LEGO form, John Rhys-Davies in his second LEGO form, Christopher Lee in his second LEGO form, Cate Blanchett, Sean Bean, etc) and OTHER VA's (Yuri Lowenthal and Liam O'Brien being among them).
