If you were to walk in Em's shoes, you'd have to deal with: -His mom's treatment of him and his brother taken away by the state -The extreme level of poverty he was at along with his deteriorating marriage with Kim -The industry's treatment of him as a white rapper - The government's treatment of him as a controversial artist -All of his beefs -His on/off drug addiction -The deaths of his friends (Bugz, Proof) -His deep depression as he got clean -Helping his family with both financial and emotional support (Kim, Hailie, Alaina, Whitney, Nate) -The pressure of continuing to write at the level he's at (MTBMB and further) -Constant criticism and press -Staying up to date with the rap game (listening, helping friends with projects, producing) All of these are a part of his fame and fortune. It took a lot to get to where he is now, and he still has to go through some of these even today. A lot of people would crack under all of this.

I think he said in an interview that he wrote this song throughout the whole detox process, like he started writing when he od and finished it when he was clean, so it was the last song recorded on the album. Like, he wrote the first verse right after OD, the second verse during his rehab and the third when he finished the treatment, at least that’s what I remember reading. But hey, maybe I’m wrong, and if I am, please correct me.

This was right after Proof died. He really struggled after he died. He was on drugs heavy and almost died of an overdose. You can tell the drugged out Em by how he sounds. I can anyway. Relapse was him coming off the drugs and recovery was him sober. Recovery is his best album in my opinion.

To me it reminds me of my time when I was coming off my prescription meds and couldn't sleep all day all night for months . Took my energy too tired and depressed for I had kids to raise. All the problems I was blanking out with drugs made me feel exactly the same as he says in this. I just wanted to get over it and be normal but it just felt so long and like I was the only person awake and feeling like I did . When I did catch an hour of sleep it was dream state and each one was like a freddy Krueger movie or Ems 3am and Framed videos.... Needless to say his words hit home big time and helped me more than anyone else! Definitely the best most honest person in music and my no.1 🎼🔥📝🐐🔥❤

Nope.. Not On Relapse.. In 2007 He Suffered A Lethal Methadone Overdose, Where He Almost Died.... He Was Planning To Release His Final Album Of His Rap Career Namely "King Mathers" In 2007.. But He Cancelled This Plan, Added Some Songs Of "King Mathers" To "Relapse" And Then Released It... There Were Many Unreleased Songs From That Album... One I Remember Is "Apple"..
