When you read the guitar tabs for Morello's leads, there are actually notes in them about sliding an Alan wrench on the strings and stuff like that. He uses his volume knobs and the pick up switch and all kinds of pedals and tricks to make hip hop sounds on guitar. He is incredible!

@@angelone1839 saw them at Lollapoolza 94 when I was 18 the 1st time. They were obviously great and we were excited AF they were going to be at that show and kept telling our friends it was going to be crazy but because a lot of people in the DC area hadn't heard of them yet they were like yeah, whatever. So they come out and blow the place up beyond what I had imagined possible. 20,000 people moshing and going crazy but the funniest part was after they go off. I don't know if it was a joke or they hated the dudes but they put some eurotrash EDM band on after they had all of us in the crowd ready to riot and those dudes couldn't even get thru their set. Everyone was yelling and booing and throwing anything and everything they could get their hands on at them on the stage. Even more than the 2 Woodstock crowds which were massive that's the most amped up crowd I've been in.

What I like about these react videos is that it's almost like seeing your favorite songs for the first time again. If you read this Shaq, most of Rage's music is like this song and they have some really good stuff you should just listen to them on your own time to find what you like. You've done some Slipknot stuff in the past but their older music has some bars in it too that'd probably surprise you like Spit it Out that people keep recommending. Tom Morello was definitely one of the most innovative guitarist's of all time..the use of the wah peddle can create many of a unique styles..Jimi Hendrix and Kirk Hammett amongst many others can/could vouch for this..which also mixed with ur own unique style and talented playing can make a guitar sound like a turntable lol Love R.A.T.M. glad u got to experience and we got to witness u reacting to Rage for the first time

tom morello makes that sound by turning the gain on one of the pickups all the way up so all the little squeaks from the strings are picked up and amplified, then switches to an off pickup really fast using the switch up select on the guitar. super clever

The scratch is guitar only. Tom does it by turning the volume on his neck pick-up to 0. Then, while rubbing the strings with his palm switches back and forth between the active bridge pick-up and muted neck pick-up.
