When he smeared his clown makeup (which represented the mask he wears for the audience or the public persona rappers put on to please people) you saw some colour appear for the first time in the video. Kinda looked like that was his true colours coming through, but everyone just kept laughing and didn't notice. So then he started looking like he was gonna kill himself on ig live, but people kept laughing, because we love emo rappers atm, but no one actually cares about the mental health of these people who are clearly going through some shit. It was only when he killed himself that people had a genuine response to him as a person, and not just the show. Idk if I'm reaching too much, but that's how it seemed to me. Much love for this one and all the content you put out shaq ❤

They also showed color in the face tattoos and the lean. I think it's supposed to represent how the current culture idolizes the drugs and tattoos, saying that's what you need. But Denzel's color comes when he shows his individuality, what makes him a unique and amazing artist.

its a message about modern hip hop industry, they put you in the spotlight, want you to do things (face tats, drugs, etc) cause its flashy and trendy (clout), and the music labels are exploiting rappers like entertainment icons (clowns) to profit for themselves, which is why they added the visual of the man pulling dollar printed handkerchief out his pocket without him being aware, the audience with cups of lean, face tats. hes speaking on the influence of mumble rap and generic shit, saying the industry doesnt want uniqueness, the industry wants a puppet thats disposable and dispensable. only time a rapper will have more fame (=more sales) will be when they die. glad to see shaq gets it. alot of reaction vids cant even get it cause theyre part of the crowd in the music vid. this what we're here for. barology, lets break it down coach

I’m glad you did a video to this. I had always wondered if i was making something out of nothing. Like when he hangs himself with his chain. I feel like he's saying yeah he's controlled. And has to do certain things to be cool or to fit in. To entertain the fans even if it's killing him. And when he does show signs of depression or being effected nobody notices and think it's a joke until it's too late.

same as it ever was...the artist at mercy of the people, trying to please the people. the people only want to be entertained, the boss puts the stress on you to come with it. when you don't come with it you get chewed up and spit out, but as an artist you gave your whole soul to your art and now you feel worthless. some people can't handle it and take extreme measures. it's an age old archetype. been going on since the dawn of man. this is a genius video and song. denzel curry is one of the realest out there. really great stuff that makes you think. that's not an everyday occurrence with rap these days, so props to denzel on a great song!

Damn bro, I've seen like 2 or 3 videos of you reacting to music videos and this one by far was the best and you earned a new subscriber. The thing is you fuckin cracked the whole concept and meaning of the video, they lyrics, the visuals at every point so accurately that the same whole meaning is present on Genius for this song's lyrics and that's because you were paying attention to the song, to it's lyrics and the video which most of the reacting channels don't. Keep on deciphering and dissecting songs/videos and their meaning

Stuff like this music video pushes me towards film school and things like this song make me take all music so much more seriously when this first came out damn that's deep and now that its been a while I appreciate it so much more cause we all have our moments of darkness and stupidity and its hard to get out when no one pays attention or laughs at you this song proves so much about life that its ridiculous and I ain't religious but rappers preach whether you talking about money and fame getting shot and stabbed or just your depression your preaching about what you see what you witness but you can't tell no one what's going on when no one pays attention to what you say that's what I got from this video

Man I’ve watched and listened to that song like 10000 times. And like I got it. But for some reason the other message that just connected to me, is he’s saying like. Everyone is all about the drugs and alcohol and depression. Then when the dude dies. Everyone freaks out shocked. Like How could this happen?

when i watch this song i think sometimes that x's death or mac miller. lil peep. juice. i get thoughts that there is a big question that maybe the industry (labels) & big heads they were behind ending up lives of these rappers specially x bcz we all know x wasn't the same person he was before when he died. when he first came out he was all dark & evil in his music even his xxl freestyle was hell evil but he flipped and changed in his personality & music. started doing positive music emotional and then... gone. and i think too that denzel knows so much about the industry and (labels vs x) so why denzel is the only rapper that came out with a song on this subject? big question cuz denzel knows a lot about x they even lived together (if u know about ult). man shit's too scary and mysterious

5:07 he starts pulling money out of him meaning the industry was just taking money from him, im not positive but i think a bunch of things came out about how he got used by the industry around this time its been a while tho still the video goes way deeper then that ive watched it for years and still find new things to this day
