I saw Heart for the first time in 1978 from 6th row center seats. Ann was dressed like an exotic gypsy and after two hours of watching her sing, spin, snarl and dance she totally owned every single guy in the joint. Nancy is gorgeous, but Ann is a wild thing.

Oh, those girls from Canada! Ann (singer) and Nancy (singer and guitar) were considered to be the first hard rock "girl" band. If you want to see something amazing, watch the video that takes place during the Kennedy Center Honors, honoring Led Zeppelin. It is the last performance of the evening and the guys are there (with the exception of Jon Bonham, who died several years before) to watch Heart perform "Stairway to Heaven." Now imagine having to perform the most iconic rock & roll song ever in front of the most iconic band ever. No pressure? Ann NAILS it!!!!! And the reaction from the band is moving.

This was written by Ann and Nancy Wilson together with guitarist Roger Fisher and drummer Michael DeRosier. According to the band, the song is a statement about the record industry in general. It was written at a time when there was friction between the band and their label. Little Queen was the first album Heart released for the CBS-Portrait label. Their old label, Mushroom Records, sued the band and in 1978 released Magazine, an album made up of previously recorded material that Heart did not want released. (Thanks to Sovereign Records for this information.) The Wilson sisters revealed in various interviews that the song was about Heart's anger towards an ad Mushroom Records placed in trade publications implying that Ann and Nancy were lesbians having an affair. The song focuses on Ann's rage towards a promoter who came up to her after a concert in Detroit asking how her "lover" was. She initially thought he was talking about her then-boyfriend - band member Michael Fisher. After the promoter revealed he was talking about her sister Nancy Wilson, Ann became angry and went back to her hotel room to write the song. Nancy put suitably angry music to the words to complete the song comparing the sleazy side of music to a dangerous fish.

This song is about her anger towards Mushroom Records. A predatory "Barracuda" record label that they worked with. The company wrote a false article about Ann, the singer, and her sister who plays the guitar, as if they were lovers. Not joking. It was to get people to read their article in a magazine. Mushroom Records no longer exists...

Dog and butterfly was one of my favorites. It talks about a young woman struggling in life . Shes about ready to turn to prostitution. When she meets a older man . The song talks about him laying her down to the warm soft ground. As she laughs into the sky. The dog and butterfly are not only two sexual positions. But it also represents two people whom are opposite in every way. Check out heart dog and butterfly
