Wow, cool to see it all come together. What a lot of work for you and looks like even more work for the client in the future.

Really enjoyed the series, and the benchwork is so good looking, I'd almost not cover it with scenery! As for Homasote, it has indeed become irregular in thickness, flatness, more expensive and hard to get, as I've experienced over the last 30 years and several layouts. It is even harder getting modules realigned after moving them, and I can see in the final video that there will be some sanding and filling to get the surface differences resolved. I've found sheet cork (available at home improvement centers in 4' x 100' rolls) glued to 3/4" sanded/birch plywood to be infinitely more flat and stable, especially given I model in N-scale. Your handy glue roller would be great for creating this 'sandwich'. If you do have to use Homasote, I discovered toothless knife blades in my jig saw to almost eliminate the dust vs cutting it with regular blades. Not sure if they make a circular blade version, but you'll likely need to special order them as I've never found them in the home improvement or hardware stores. HTH, cheers!

You know I’ve tried countless times to find roll cork in Home Depot and can never find it. I’ve gone to ordering 1ft square tiles off of Amazon as it’s the most affordable option I’ve found and it matched Midwest cork thickness.

Incredible work! It is a very well thought layout and you have executed the benchwork just perfectly. Congrats for the work and the video. (It is a shame you are in America and not in Europe... I would buy from you if you were here.)

I wouldn't be opposed to a Euro trip but Europe has some incredibly talented layout builders so I'm sure you'll find someone. Just keep in mind that they call them Baseboards over there instead of benchwork.

I’ll be going back to this one to wire it in about 6 months so we’ll see it again. Also 6 months back I did an HO layout that has an O gauge loop under it, I’ll be going back to that one as well.

Wowsers! If I only had the money. I’ve got an area in my unfinished basement 21’x21’ where I’d love to have one of your setups in. Great work on this! I’m so jealous.

Cost is really dependent on complexity and the amount of work YOU want to do. If you have ideas, reach out, it might be more affordable than you think.

How do you ship something like this?
@MRBenchwork

in this case I just hired movers and they delivered it to the client's home about an hour from my shop. If it was going further I'd palletize and ship it via truck.
