Head to NOLS Northeast and explore the mountains, lakes, and rivers of the Adirondacks. Courses include backpacking, service, climbing, and canoeing for adults, teenagers, and friends and family of NOLS alumni.
With over 6.1 million acres, a patchwork of public and private lands, the Adirondack Park in northern New York is the largest park in the Lower 48. It's also just hours from major cities like Montreal, New York City, and Boston.
You'll find sparkling lakes, clear ponds, and rivers large and small that punctuate this landscape, while Mount Marcy and other high peaks preside over countless smaller peaks and valleys. Experience the landscape that provided shelter and sustenance to the Algonquian and Mohawk Native Americans and the unique boreal forests that are home to beaver, deer, moose, fisher, pine marten, osprey, bobcat, and over 250 species of birds.
