Nomad Cosmetics Cartagena Magica palette, 2 looks and review!

It is so so so weird to see my country (or parts of it) represented in a positive light or even in make up! I really like the color story, it is a bit cartagena, but i guess it would be missing a few blues and/or greens to make it truly cartagena. But, in general, most of the buildings of the old city are painted in shades of yellow and cream with a bunch of fuchsia flowers blooming year round, so i guess the palette does fit the city. I might get this palette, i actually really like the color story, it kind of makes me think of a more paired down version of the JH 2 palette, without a bunch of browns and purples (which i have in other palettes) Personally, an every day look for me is an orange or pink look, so i would end up using it a lot. Edit: the animal would be a Jaguar 😂😂😂

This looks like such a good palette for work. I’m a color lover, but when I’m back at work, I’ll have to tone it down a bit. This is beautiful, the colors are so nice, and it’s still very wearable for many jobs.

I bought this on launch day even though, if I'm completely honest, it really isn't my color story (more of a grungy gal right now lol). I'm still super excited about it because I just LOVE Nomad. My first palette was the Surf Shack quad and since then I'm on a mission to own all the palettes! :D I will say that I have found myself pulling out multiple Nomad palettes when I do a look so not having a lot of depth in this one doesn't really bother me; just from looks I think this one would pair nicely with the Orient Express palette. Thanks for taking the time to play with this and giving a genuine review!

I think this palette is beautiful..I ordered it after I watched Beautbeans 1st impression video but I do agree with you but it needed depth ... they needed darker colors, green or blue. And adding that would have made it are really great fall palette

The Tokyo palette is a gorgeous piece of pastel work. Lots of fall out, but worth it for the pay off. Do spray your brush. The Orient Express is on its way to me, so I don't know how that one will be. Good luck.

I love color stories like this. I have blue green eyes and warm colors really tend to make my eyes pop. But I do agree, more depth would be nice, but then again I have plenty of dark purples in other palettes.

Their Tokyo palette is one of the top 3 in my 60+ palette collection, and I love their formula. Unfortunately this colour story is an immediate nope for me. I'm a cool toned or blue/green lover so there's no way I want this, but I'm so happy for them that they've released another palette😚 Thank you so much for showing it to us and, as always, your talent blows me away♥️💙

I recently purchased the Nomad Berlin Underground palette and I love it so much- the shimmers I found work best applied with the fingers and I know u don’t like that.

I really do like the look you created! How would you say the shimmer pinks and oranges compare to the ones in the Musee Beauty Impressionism palette in terms of color? Are the colors similar? I bought that one after your review and adore it. I wouldnt say there are any dupes between the two palettes. Muse’s shimmers are very opaque and basic where as nomads are sheer and reflective

I'm actually looking forward to getting this palette for all the reasons that you don't like it. I feel like I can do the kinds of looks you do, which are so much fun, but without the high intensity you usually do them with. I know, I know, I love your over the top creations and how intense they are, but since I wear colors for work (I work at a hospital scanning 'rona patients with ultrasound), I have to do them in a way that is not as intense. Still colorful, like this gorgeous colorful look you did here, but - yeah, a little muted. I'd rather wear a muted but colorful look for work than to wear basic 'B' browns. You know what I mean? I'd definitely use the crap out of a palette like this, but I don't really look at a palette in isolation - I view every eyeshadow in my collection as part of a gigantic colour story so I could easily pull in another dark matte or shimmer. and the tone of that yellow is super cool!

I love Nomad. I have the Berlin, Antilles, Tokyo, Orient Express, Toscana and Coma, Malibu....and while I'm sure this one feels and works as lovely as those the color story is not what I'm needing. It's hard but I'm passing on this one. I have so much right now and trying to use up what I have.

Glad you like them! Their palettes are usually just too big for me. If Angelica Nyqvist ends up liking these (she bought 2 i think), i will probably keep an eye on their upcoming releases cause i trust her opinion.

Aw man, in one of the IG sneak peaks it said half matte half shimmer, so I thought this was void of satin or sequin type shades, but I guess not. 😞 I was excited about it, thinking it might be the palette I get to try their eyeshadow formula, but now I don’t think so. I either don’t really care for some (pinks), or have the colors several times over. I also really want darker shades. I’m pretty sure I have every midtoned summery shade in every undertone imaginable, so having a palette like this with a dark purple and/or dark red would have been awesome. I know that makes everything look like a sunset palette, but sunsets have depth, and I like sunsets. 😬

I am really thinking about getting this palette. I love love the color story because I actually do not like dark dark eyeshadows. I like lighter color stories, and I can always reach into another palette if needed. My only concern is the formula. I was gifted the Berlin Underground eyeshadow palette and I did not like it at all. The colors were too dark and very similar tones. No deffinition between colors. The shimmers were not vibrant at all, and also feel I did not like the formula one bit. I give brands the oportunity to better themselves. I want to buy from Nomade, but I want to make sure the formula es better than the Berlin Palette because I do love the Cartagena Color story. If anybody has an opinion comparing the 2 palettes, please let me know.

I dont have that one, but i do have another one of their old palettes. The shimmers have improved tenfold, the mattes i think are the same formula. There arent as many satins in the newer palettwa at least

I don't think it would have looked as good had you not put that purple shade. It was probably hard to maneuver because it's a matte or at least partial matte on glitter glue. Shimmers are more emollient and so they have a better slip on something tacky than what a mat does.

You could be stuck with the most bland palette and still turn out a look that would leave us thinking who the F she do that , Annette putting a brush and any colour in your hands and you create magic pure and simple you still after all this time I’ve watched you you can still make me think it’s wizardry the colours you pair together make magic me I make mud more often than not and have to start all over or make myself look like I went two rounds in a ring and walk away the loser. Watching you makes me try harder and most of all makes me want to play with shadows even more.
