Nice! I haven't been down to Padre Is since 2006. Used to spend my winters there in late 1990's to avoid Minnesota winters. Lots of great places to see down there in Corpus as well as nearby towns to the north. Artists colonies, etc. Old mansions. Lots of flea markets etc.

It's been a couple years since Eric posted this video. Recently, Ausia Pandamonium) , Teri & Scott (Destination Open Road), and a bunch of others in the Tribe came through. I got to meet them after they left the beach and headed inland. Anyways, if you venture down in the future, make sure to ask park personnel about the sea turtles. At different times of the year, female swill come ashore and bury their eggs in nests on the beach. Later, the eggs hatch (though there is a huge effort to find the nests and hatch them all in incubators) and then the hatchlings make a dash for the sea, or are released onto the beach to make their dash. Park personnel will let you know what to look for, and if you time it right, you might get to participate in a turtle release day. It's a big thing around here, with lots of volunteers. So keep an eye out for turtles on the beach, and remember, they are federally protected, so intentional harming of them is a felony. Also, for those of you that did not grow up on the Gulf Coast. We are known for our horribly strong rip currents. Visitors die here all the time, because they aren't accustomed to swimming in local waters. Please learn about rip currents when you come down, and don't panic if you get caught in one. Swim across it, not against it. And once clear, swim to shore. I don't know about other weather apps, but Weatherbug gives rip current alerts, when those go out. Also, learn about the Portugeuse man-o-war, a type of jellyfish that floats on the surface, and dangles its stingers below. Really bad to get caught up in one in the water, and they wash ashore, and can get you that way too. Keep an eye on the little kids around them. Adolf's season salt, sprinkled on a sting, can give some relief until you get medical attention. The area has recovered a great deal since Hurricane Harvey. We didn't get it too bad in Corpus, but just 35 miles north, they got hammered with a direct hit. Please spend some of your vacation time in Port Aransas, Rockport, Aransas Pass, and Fulton areas. The fishing is fantastic, the off-shore boats and guides are all up and running, and many of the restaurants and small businesses are opened back up. The local economies up there rely on tourism, and they sure would appreciate your business. Eric, next time you roll through, let me know. Beer and BBQ are in order, and I will hook you up with the best tamales in town.

I went with small and nimble: Fiat Doblo, better known in the US as RAM Promaster City. greetings from Belgium, Isabelle

We locals pronounce it Mal-uh-keet Beach. Just a heads up for next time you come down for this. On the Island there are lots of coyotes and up in the dunes, rattlesnakes. Sometimes coral snakes too. Just a couple weeks ago someones small dog disappeared, and it was probably coyotes, brave enough to come down to a busy county park north of you, during the day. Red tide is usually a summer thing, we are having a bout of it in the bay right now, but the Laguna Madre and the gulf are pretty clear. Anyways, if I am still in the area next time, I will make sure to come out and meet you and Jax.

+Alameda Repair Shop It's pathetic that you unsubscribed because of the comments...
@handicapitation32509 жыл бұрын
+PlNKUHOSHI I don't think so. I un-subbed and re-subbed as well. Every KZbinr has haters and you silence them by not addressing them. Period. By addressing the haters, it only reinforces the hate and it grows and grows. The haters win. Ignore the haters and they fail, then they take their hate somewhere else. I like watching Eric's video's and I like Eric's personality, that's why I watch him. I view disabling comments as almost a form of disrespect, like i'm being partially blocked from his channel.
