Welcome to this channel dedicated to angling in and around Mauritus. Fishing is my hobby and passion since I was a kid. I target a wide variety of tropical game fish from the shore, in the lagoon, near shore and deep sea.
I have a 20 year long career in media and since mid 2020 I act as consultant and trainer in media related activities.

Hi. It really varies depending on whether the weather is sunny or cloudy. When going beyond 50m, I prefer to have something that will somehow glow or be very reflective. When fishing shallower waters, try to stay close to the colours of the baitfish on which your target fish are feeding.

If you only bought size 110 and 90 ended up deeper water, will attach sinker at the bottom split ring of the squid, help it sink faster?😭

Fishing a 52g in 70/80 meters, some 20 meters off the bottom can sometimes attrack the big guys roaming in the middle of the water column. Nice surprises can happen there too. I ended up buying two larger 150mm (135g) ones to cover all the bases, but haven't had any luck in the 100m+ depths till now.

Caught my PB Croissant on it (Cali Red). It's a killer.. But losing one stings way too much..

There is NOTHING absolutely nothing in my arsenal that outfishes my Kohga sliders, but the squidtrex is definitely gonna get bites when fish are feeding ! I lost three already (one the very first day, second to a shark and third to a very cunning big croissant that made a straight run to the rocks!), it stings and I hear the bill in my head! 😅

@mauritiusfishing I will look more into the Kohga. I lost 2.. one got cut clean after 5 drops.. I can say I would much rather lose it to a cunning fish lol. Anyway, I paid about 1100 with tax for the 130 size. I don't see this lure being under 1400 if they are ever sold here. That's a lot of money if you consider most trips cost around that much..btw, I see you often fish this boat. Is that a good friend or someone who charges to take people out fishing.. if you don't mind of course.
