The special never explained how Bardock went back in time, but if you count videogame lore then it turns out Towa(Fu's mom) "saved" Bardock from Frieza's Supernova by pushing him through a wormhole which sent him back in time. Bardock was essentially one of Towa's time-travel experiments. That basically messed up the timeline because now Bardock is supposedly the first Super Saiyan to ever exist.

Ohh okay I see its weird how the franchise never cleared up how bardock went back in time here but apparently this wasn't canon so ig we're not supposed to think that deep into it

@@NoMercy4k I know, I just like more context. I still enjoyed this special. It was interesting how Bardock saved the people of the past but at the same time doomed the Saiyans in the future because now Frieza's family is weary of the Super Saiyan.

Wardock destroyed Lhilled... But the most satisfying thing is how he smoked this lizard with that choreography of death... Whit the super sayan he had no chance... He remained me future gohan with that scar in his face and if you've noticed he also wears a red bandage which if I'm not mistaken is the blood of his comrades who died in battle... This is why it's a W character design
