SPOILERS FOR HER BACKSTORY Her backstory is heart breaking😢 Before becoming La Signora "The Fair Lady", she was Rosalyne-Kruzchka Lohefalter, a young woman from Mondstadt (The starting area of the game.) Around 500 years ago she fell in love with a knight. After some time she left to study. While she was studying in the Sumeru Akademiya Rostam (the knight) died in a war agains monsters. As Rosalyne comes home to Mondstadt, she finds out about the fate of Rostam, leading to her insanity. After mourning, she decided to use “her life’s flame” to cleanse “the world’s crookedness,” becoming the Crimson Witch of Flame. She let liquid fire consume her, abandoning her mortal body. She only ever used her liquid fire to burn monsters and demons, but it gave her infamy amongst people and they started to fear her as the Crimson Witch of Flames. Before she could be fully devoured by her own flames, Pierro Leader of The Fatui (an enemy organization ingame) found her and decided to make her an ally. She was given a Cryo Delusion a human made copy of crustals that give people powers) to suppress her flames and became known as La Signora, the Eighth of the Eleven Fatui Harbringers.
