We usually forget that Daesang is a word many reactors don't understand. 😃 We use it so often that we don't even think about it anymore. It's the main cathegories/prizes on the award shows, like Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year, etc.

@@chere100 well it depends on how you look at it. It actually only says those are the "main prizes" on those shows but that doesn't really explain that those are the SOTY or AOTY etc. If I tell you somebody won the main prize on a show you never heard of, you won't necessarily know what it was. 🙂

My criticism is that you should pause when you have something to say or add. These videos are actually, believe it or not, bite-sized, if you think about it, it is just a general guide but it does not mention everything about them. You need to pay attention more to the video because you missed some details here and there. Take your time. Especially also in BTS MV's and associated content where there are both visuals and subs. Also, either your mic is too loud or the video is too soft or both.
@ericweinman9447

Wow, no matter how valid any of your criticisms are, not even one positive that someone two reactions in was so engaged with BTS that he felt committing to a 45 minute video was a worthy project. Perhaps I could have made any of those points, but I think I would acknowledge that despite what may have escaped him he took in quite a lot. Words like "you should" and "you need to" for me feel bossy. I think ARMY is here to educate newbies, not tell them this is the way things should be done. Couch your words more carefully and I think you will communicate your thoughts in a way that is both constructive and positive.

The big three. The hub of kpop. BTS was not part of them. Often times “kpop” excluded them which is why they had to promote themselves. Kpop actually tried to kill them (force them to disband) but BigHit(Hybe) wouldn’t give up. Now since BTS is so successful suddenly all of kpop are riding their coat tails, and BTS represents all of kpop. This is not true and please keep this in mind. It is a very sore spot with their Fandom and ARMY.

Thank you for sharing your BTS journey with us.... Not sure if you are aware of the difference between Korean Age and International Age... Koreans count age differently to us....So , actually the guys ages were from 15 years old to 20 years old when they debutted. (only 13 - 18 years old when they started with BTS) Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most videos they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age. When you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on 01 Jan every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. .... EG: TaeHyung (V) born 30 Dec 1995 ...... current International Age 26 (Korean Age 28). ... 2 years difference So Tae born 30 Dec 95 is 1 year old, then on 01 Jan 96 he is 1 more year older (so they would say he is 2 years old, when we would say he is 2 days old.) So he was considered 28 in Korea since 01 January, we would say he is 26 turning 27 in Dec. EG: Hoseok (JHope) born 18 Feb 1994...... current International Age 28 (Korean Age 29)... .currently 1 years difference He turned 28 on 18 Feb - but will still be considered 29 in Korea (the difference is only 1 year - until Jan 1 - then back to 2 years difference) It's a different way of looking at age, from new years day - JHope is living his 29th year (since conception) - instead of - he turned 28 (since birth).... EG: Jeongguk (JK) born 01 Sept 1997...... current International Age 24 (Korean Age 26)... .2 years difference He was considered 26 in Korea since January, even though we would say he's 24 turning 25 in Sept. So JK started with BigHit in 2011 at 13, but he would say 15 in korean age. At BTS debut on 13 Jun 13 JK was 15 in international age (17 in korean age) International Age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and international age became trainee) Jin - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo) Suga - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo) JHope - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo) RM - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo) Jimin - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo) V - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo) JK - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo) In most series they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. Hope that makes sense!!💜💜

Thank you for your reaction to Taylor’s video. I loved how you really took the time to read what she wrote and how you were restated it so we know you understood what was being said. One thing not mentioned is OT7 and bias. OT means One True and 7 is the number of members. When ARMY (in all caps because it’s an acronym and so others know it’s not the Military) say OT7 is means they love and support each member equally. Bias is the member(s) you relate too the most. Some fans think of who they are attracted to while most ARMY bias is closest to their own personality. I am OT7 but I have 2 bias I am a mix of Jimin the last member in this video that you said you could listen to his voice and fall asleep to because it is so soothing. My other is Suga the rapper you said you liked the way he looked and you liked his rapping style. I know you will see other videos that mentioned OT7, bias, Stan and others. But just wanted to share this because will probably start seeing it in the comments. By the way loved your reactions so far and subscribed. Thank you! Borahae 🫰💜🇺🇸

I find the clip of them inviting people for their free concert a little missleading. They debuted in summer of 2013 and the clip was in the reality show "American Hustle Life" for Mnet in LA a year later. At that point they had put out 3 mini-albums and had already people waiting for them at the airport. Aneesa of "The Rise of Bantan"-fame (probably the best docu we have now which also gives lots and lots of context that is missing in other stuff like over the SK music scene/history and what is the context in the global entertainment scene) was there but the line got cut a few people before her. As a reality show they were a little over the top to make it intertesting but they are in a foreign country which speaks a different language a year into their official career that went actually well for artists of their means. BTS posted on soundcloud, youtube and famous Korean platforms like their fancafe and such (Daum etc,) but also on Twitter (fun fact : they were so successfull on twitter even back than that Twitter made a logo of their old symbol and put it behind the letters BTS whicht confused quiet a few Western stars that wanted the letter for the shorthand of "Behind the scene" (also fun fact there is some merrit that Twitter would have never gotten that big wthout them; there is even a claim that Twitter survived because of them and Army: I have no idea if that is true just that that particular piece of media was not successfull at the beginning and that BTS are special because of that added logo the Bulletproof West symbol back than) Also fun to know that neither Jimin nor Taehyung can trend only by their name alone as their names have been declared common words or they would trend to often. There is a joke that the third world war could be happening and army would still trend Jimin. Yes... they still keep up. For example after J-Hope had his 70 minute stage with 17 songs at Lollapalooza he still went online - vlive were you can find it with subtitles that were added after the live - and talked with Army together with Jimin who had come to cheer on J-Hope and it seems helped him over a depressive epsiode that made him more Despair than Hope. So yeah... we got some of his more dark feelings also with the joy of having done such a good stage that was so loved by the fans. He included his just dropped first solo album "Jack in the box". Everyone on camera wears make up. There are even some rapper that are known for it. I think the stigma is changing. Idols must be able to dance and either sing or rap. The trainees are chosen for their stage presence in auditions. For the rest they have 1000s of hours of training with special teachers. The trainees are sorted out till the label has the number of people they want to debut often sending the unchoosen trainees away (they may try again for another label) But you can begin as a teenager with either the ability to dance, sing, rap or because you look exceptional good. The rest is often years long training (1-3 years usually but if the trainee is very young it can take much longer) So there a even for a than small label like Big Hit about a dozen people that didn't debut with them. Mind you a few of them choose to go themselves in their case (at some labels you don't have the choice). Supreme Boi went to become a producer at the label. I think they lost people when the concept was changed from a Hiphop group to an Idol group and there were a few more rules (not as many as at other labels) to follow. Suga is the best producer in the group but he is not the only producer for the group by a long shot. SK has three different systems to count age. Usually the number is 1-2 years higher than we would use for them: you are 1 year old when you are born (counting the time in your mother as that year) and become a year older at the new year (Poor Taehyung!). JK signed as a trainee in spring 2011 I believe and moved to Seoul into their dorm so he was not even 14 yet - his birthday beign a few months away. A webtoon is a kind of comic (there is even an app named so). They have 4 comic lines. One is from the beginning with kind of dog characters that tell about BTS history a little. The second is a superhero comic called "We are: On" or something. It ends as abruptly as it begins. "Save Me" tells the BU (Bangtan Universe) story and solves the confusion that the other stuff left. "Seven Fates: Chakho" is more sponsered by them and is an urban fantasy comic about monsters invading our world they must fight to survive (+ magic). They have also a cartoon story the BT21 characters are mostly some kind of animals/human beigns with their own story. BTS has the Tiny Tan, too - who have 2 full music videos to their songs "micdrop" and "zero o'clock" + snippets. You nice! Keep going! 💜

BTS don't fake it, like many other Artists do. n Even tho BTS is the one who made Army and their small company This big by their Hardwork, Amazing Music n Lyricism, he still gave themselves a small portion of their Success when they r the one who deserves the most, thts why I love BTS 💜💜

I, like many ARMY, love Taylor's summary Intro to BTS - there are others, which also have merits, but this is, I think, the best overall Introduction. Other chanels which provide information include Xceleste (excellent), The Rise of Bangtan (fan-made series with enormous detail about BTS - outstanding quality) and there are also several "explained" videos which take significant songs and explain word play, cultural references and social significance.

As I’m sure many commenters will tell you, what you have just experienced is called The Jimin Effect. There is a saying in ARMY, once you Jimin you can’t Jimout. You are not the only one. It happens to loads of people. 💜

This was amazing!!! For solos I highly recommend reacting to Singularity and Stigma by V (I also really like all of his solos but especially Snow Flower and Christmas Tree), Daechwita and/or Trivia;Seesaw by Suga/AGUST-D, Lie, Filter, and Serendipity by Jimin, Euphoria by Jungkook, Outro:Ego by J-Hope, Intro-Persona by RM (& Change by RM feat. Wale) and Epiphany by Jin 💜💜

J-Hope just released his first official solo album Jack In The Box, I think you would really enjoy it, the lyrics are great and the music is a gritty mix of old school hip hop and rock. He has some live performances singing with IU, a singer songwriter who in South Korea has the popularity of Taylor Swift with the respect of Adele. She interviewed J-Hope for his solo album on her interview music show IU's Palette and they sung two songs together and J-Hope did one song solo.

In case no one else has mentioned this: Jung Kook’s production is called “Golden Closet Films” because he is called the “Golden Maknae” (“Golden Youngest”) and he literally began producing in his closet during the time the group were living in small quarters. It is NOT a reference to his sexuality as we English speakers might suppose! Also, Koreans calculate their ages differently than we Westerners. When Jung Kook joined BTS he was 13 in Western years. And you are correct that RM has a primarily American accent. He literally learned to speak English by watching videos of the “Friends” TV show!! (Remember IQ 148!). My name is Jerri. I’m an American woman who has been living in Europe for nearly 35 years - the first ten in Northern Germany and the last 24+ in Sweden. I am currently 73 years old and have been an Army since 2017. Welcome to our rabbit hole, I purple you! 💜 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 💜

Love your reaction!!! There is a documentary of, so far, 22 chapters about the most detailed history of how BTS became famous, it's called "The Rise Of Bangtan", it's on KZbin and it shows you the behind the scenes and the context for each album they released, there you can also find more songs of theirs, presentations and see that they did not become famous overnight. In addition, it can also help you learn more about the context of K-pop in general and why BTS is different. Thanks for take your time and make this, appreciate it.

Please watch KZbinr Xceleste BTS hardships & struggles 2013-2021. BTS was so discriminated…especially South Korean EXO FANS..PLUS BIGHIT WAS A SMALL Company who couldn’t pay off the media like the top big 3. They won over the world with their talent & message. This is the most updated version. You are currently watching the best BTS INTRO BY TAYLOR. She genuinely loves BTS & it shows with her quality video. These 7 boys overcame such terrible criticism & death threats but continue to show positive energy & love. BTS makes me want to be a better individual in this beautiful world of ours.

In a Kpop group, each member has a specific role to do. In Kpop you will regularly hear the positions - main, lead and sub. The most common with all Kpop groups is that they have a leader and a visual (the face of the group), the rappers and the vocals. For BTS, the composition is something like this: RM - leader, main rapper, composer SUGA - lead rapper, composer J-Hope - Performance leader, main dancer, lead rapper, sub-vocals Jin - Visual, vocals V - Vocals, lead dancer, also acts as visual Jimin - main vocal, main dancer Jungkok - center, main vocal, main dancer Aside from the original units (rappers and vocals), there are also other sub-units within the group such as the Hyung (older brother) line [Jin, Suga, J-Hope and RM]; the Maknae (younger brother) line [V, Jimin and Jungkok] ; the Dance line [J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkok] better known as the 3Js... and others like 94-line, the 95 line...and so many more (hahaha!) It's a wonderful journey getting to know BTS.

Hope that makes sense!!💜💜

you missed what happened at Wembley. ARMY got together with show producer and surprised them by singing. you talked through most of that, maybe go back to it, it's very moving. HAve fun with your discovery. Maybe pause in breaks of songs, to avoid copyright isue, but go through it, then you can go back and stop and make comments in depth. SO glad you started with this one. There is another (shorter, funner) one I recommend, called Who is BTS, the Seven Members, by Suga and Spice. It is pretty old and has some outdated parts but I like the focus on the members. As many have commented, I'll agree that we don't mind long videos. We really enjoy watching with someone like you who is open minded and seems to catch on to the reality of BTS. Thanks!

You need to watch Run BTS show if you want to have a good laugh...you will see the chaotic and funny side of the members. In The Soop & Bon Voyage is where you can see a more laid back side of BTS. The have lived together for more than 10 yrs including their training days that's why they have come to and accept each other and you can see that they genuinely love, care and respect each other. Jin was scouted first by SM Entertainment (one of the big 3 kpop companies) while getting off the bus but did not follow up on it as he thought it was a scam. But years later he was scouted by one of the BigHit managers while walking on the street and he accepted th offer. He literally started to learn how to dance and sing starting from zero. He even studied in Australia when he was young. When J-hope wanted to quit JK cried so hard that he even slept next to JHope crying not wanting him to leave and yes he Hobi changed his mind and stayed. When JK almost wanted to quit because he misses his mom, Jin's love made him stayed. When JK was still studying Jin would prepare for his school meals and would drove him to school while Suga and Hobi would pick JK up from school. JK literally grew up with his members and in one interview he even said that the members raised him.
