This is actually the Surah that I was guided to, a while ago, ironically by a non-muslim jour nal ist friend of mine who actually visited the West Ba nk (you know where). She mentioned that Islam is actually very respectful of Christians in certain parts of the world, especially in Jerusalem / Al-Quds, because of what Islam teaches about Jesus and Mary. I was honestly moved to tears because no one had every taught me how important Jesus and Mary are in Islam too. It was reading this Surah that made me want to start reading the whole Quran from the beginning. I read the first two Surahs and I realized… omg I’m spiritually home, this is my faith, I have already believed so much of this and I was just searching and searching and never even thought I could find this in Islam because of the stereotypes (sometimes western stereotypes, sometimes inaccuracies some fundamentalists believe, but always there were things that hid my eyes and heart from the truth). I’m so glad I finally realized the truth. I’m a revert to Islam now, and praying salah gives my heart peace. 🙏

and there is a very beautiful lesson to learn form the "shake the palmtree" you see in that image: Merry is in labor, terrified and scared. but god ordered her to "work and i ll provide for you" -shake the tree god didnt just let the dates fall but he ordered her to shake the tree. meaning that you always need to work. and god will make it easy for you ♡

Yes when ALLAH told her the leave her place of safety to go out and give birth. She said to ALLAH how would I get food? That's when she doubted HIM. That when ALLAH said didn't I sent you food daily. So ALLAH told her to shake the date tree to get her food. If she hadn't worried about her food ALLAH would have still sent her food from heaven. She is held as the highest woman of the world. Yes, in Spain we use María (Mariah) for Mary....And as Muslims we use both forms "Maria" and "Maryam", both are common. One of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) wives was called Maria (in this form)
