It's unfortunate that you skipped over orthostatic tremor because it is so rare. Maybe it isn't as rare as one would think. This would have been the perfect opportunity to bring awareness to a disorder that is vastly misunderstood and overlooked simply because of lack of knowledge in the medical community. If it's not taught in med school, especially those that want to specialize in neurology, how will they be able to identify it in their patients?

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we're committed to including orthostatic tremor in our future content. It's crucial that medical education covers a wide range of conditions, including those that are less common, to ensure all patients receive the care they need. Thank you for your important feedback.

Ive had a tremor in my left index finger (that appears if I move the finger laterally) for about a year now, seems to worsen with heat. Strangely enough if I grab my finger and hold it in the same position that would normally activate the tremor the tremor disappears so it's not a resting tremor. I don't take any medicine or substance nor do I drink alcohol or use nicotine.

What about Complex Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia and Orthostatic Tremor?
@lecturiomedical
@lecturiomedical 4 ай бұрын
You're absolutely right to mention both Complex Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP) and Orthostatic Tremor. These are conditions that are often overlooked, yet they have a profound impact on those who live with them. Including discussions on these disorders is essential to raise awareness and improve understanding within the medical community.

@@lecturiomedical yep! My conditions (I have both) took over 6 years to diagnose and believe it or not, it was the lack of knowledge and awareness throughout the medical profession that was the cause of this traumatic delay. I was labelled with so many things and given tests that were not warranted and which weren't risk free either. I was told I was depressed, anxious, perhaps I had a brain tumour, oh you don't have a space occupying lesion but you do have T2 hyper intensity lesions so could be MS but they aren't typical of MS. What about neurosarcodosis? Nope! Ah, we will try and give him the FND label without the positive signs! I'm in the UK, the NHS is a mess but my journey is not unique and far too many go through the same hell I did. So if channels like yours could include some of these rare disease, it would be much appreciated by the community of people like myself. Thanks so much for the reply though.

Orthostatic tremor is lightly dismissed in your video, unfortunately there are people suffering from this horrible incurable disease, maybe you should include it in your video to raise awareness.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize if the coverage of orthostatic tremor felt dismissive. We understand that it’s a serious and challenging condition for those who live with it. Your point about raising awareness is well taken, and we will make sure to include more thorough information about orthostatic tremor in future videos. It’s important that we provide a comprehensive understanding of all conditions, especially those that are often overlooked. Thank you for helping us improve our content.

Could you include orthostatic tremor in your next video? Unfortunately this condition is unknown by many doctors and neurologists, thus making diagnosis difficult. Because of this, many people don't receive help for years after the tremors start because their symptoms are dismissed. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for highlighting the importance of orthostatic tremor. You're right-it's often overlooked, leading to delayed diagnoses and care. We'll make sure to include it in future videos to raise awareness among healthcare professionals and students. Your input is invaluable in helping us improve education on these less-known conditions. Thanks again for your suggestion!

Very disappointed you did not bother to talk about orthostatic tremor. It may be rare for you but for those of us who suffer from it ( and there are thousands worldwide) it is something we must live with for the rest of our lives. This is the reason why just about every doctor you talk to about OT look at you like you have four heads. Just about every MD and or medical professional has never heard of IT, one of the reasons why it takes so long to get a diagnosis.

We sincerely apologize for not including orthostatic tremor in the video. We understand how frustrating it can be when a condition that significantly impacts your life is overlooked. You're absolutely right-orthostatic tremor deserves more attention, and it's critical that healthcare professionals are aware of it to provide proper care. We take your feedback seriously and will ensure that orthostatic tremor is addressed in future content.

What disorder is abdominal tremor associated with?
@Gns_ronaldo
@Gns_ronaldo Жыл бұрын
BFS or anxiety, but check if the abdomin is twitching, if it is then its BFS and its not neurodegenerative
@lecturiomedical
@lecturiomedical 4 ай бұрын
Abdominal tremor is most commonly associated with neuromyotonia (also known as Isaacs' syndrome). Neuromyotonia is a rare nerve disorder that causes continuous muscle fiber activity, leading to muscle stiffness, cramps, fasciculations, and tremors, including in the abdominal muscles. This can result in visible and sometimes uncomfortable tremors in the abdominal region.
@lecturiomedical

@@Gns_ronaldo Indeed in BFS, muscle twitching can occur in various parts of the body, including the abdomen.
