Baasha was one of the 90's iconic movies of Rajinikanth which established him as the superstar of Tamil cinema. There is one iconic film dialogue, which is still popular among the masses. The film falls in line with movies like Hum of Amitabh Bachchan where hero hides his identity to live like a common man. We saw one such role in Theri/Baby John too, where hero hides his action image and become bhola bhala type

GVM has always had a different voice in Tamil industry. If everyone collaborated beatifully, GVM would have been the first director to crack a Police or Detective Cop Universe with his range of films he has done. Even if his films are at hault or failing at BO, if he is being spoken is because he is still relevant in the industry with a unique voice. His collaborative attitude makes him relevant even today. Context to the controversy is around the delay of Dhruva Natcharitram due to financial issues and Suriya not agreeing and movie going to Vikram. Vikram ditched him and hasnt been supportive to help him out. Hence he got stuck alone in the issue and people started ruining his name. Dhruva Natcharitram will be one of the surprising hits whenever it releases. It shows a Spy thriller which Tamil cinema hasnt really done and Vikram coming in a stylish look after a long time. Sadly, GVM has been a victim of star ego clashes starting from Kamal Haasan to Dhanush. Else he is a director to look forward to. At 47:55 ("He said he was raised that ways by his parents"); hence he isnt a guy who goes behind stars licking their ass. Coming to Dominic and Ladies Purse, it will turn out to be a silent HIT without making any noise and GVM is going to get a new lifeline with this movie. With Mammootty's history, whenever he collaborates with someone different and new; he comes up with something interesting.
