hello sir, this is a really helpful video I found but I am having some queries, please answer me to understand it clearly. 1. Is it only geometric nonlinearity analysis? 2. Did you apply imperfection by applying a transverse load of 1 N? 3. Have you added material nonlinearity in this analysis? 4. Could you please tell me how can we add material nonlinearity?

Thank you fo sharing this video. Just having a question about the material you used. Did you enter non-linear properties for the material when running the non-linear buckling analysis? Thanks!

He used the same linear material in the analyses. The non-linearity was that he turned "large deflections" ON for the nonlinear analysis.

Hi, I'm getting mutiple spinkes in the Total Deformation in static structural after the eignvalue analysis. Is this normal? WHat I understood was buckling happens two times, could this happen?

How many capacity must have my computer for make a nonlinear analysis in a reasonable time? I mean RAM memory or to the processor, my problem is a stiffened panel, 1370 mm the length and 600 mm the width,specifically a nonlinear buckling analisys, i have tried a lot of time but i dont have good results

Sir can you please help me with GMNIA analysis for a I section based column
@FEAnalysis4 жыл бұрын
GMNIA analysis can be done by adding a shape imperfection using the UPGEOM command and also specifying a non-linear material model such as using BKIN elastic-plastic material properties. Unfortunately I could not generate on demand tutorials but I will keep this topic in mind for my next batch of videos. Thank you for your interest in my video tutorials.

How can you read the 2nd buckling mode with upgeom?
@FEAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for viewing this video and your post. The Upgeom command syntax is: "UPGEOM, FACTOR, LSTEP, SBSTEP, Fname, Ext,--". You can read the load step and substep in the *.rst file corresponding to the mode shape you want to apply as a shape imperfection.

@@FEAnalysis Even if I calculate two modes, there will be only one .rst file in the SYS-1/MECH folder. I used this command to read: upgeom,0.0005,1,1,C:\......\dp0\SYS-1\MECH\file,rst This always loads the 1st buckling mode. How can I apply the 2nd buckling mode as a shape imperfection? Thanks for your help.
@FEAnalysis3 жыл бұрын
@@krisztiansziklai6992 All mode results would be stored in the same rst file e.g. listed in APDL for a sample modal analysis: SET TIME/FREQ LOAD STEP SUBSTEP CUMULATIVE 1 5.9392 1 1 1 2 8.6926 1 2 2 3 37.113 1 3 3 4 54.424 1 4 4 5 103.34 1 5 5 6 123.82 1 6 6 So simply try reading the second substep with this command (Load step 1, substep 2): upgeom,0.0005,1,2,C:\......\dp0\SYS-1\MECH\file,rst
