The 2016-17 Golden State Warriors with Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green. The GSW sleepwalked through the regular season and waltzed into the playoff with a league best 67-15 record. They swept the Portland Trailblazers, the Utah Jazz, and the San Antonio Spurs in the first three rounds. And then the W’s easily dispatched King James and the Cavaliers 4 games to 1 in the NBA Finals and finished 16-1, the best in NBA playoff history. For good measure Steph, KD, Klay, and Draymond all made the All-Star team that year. The Warriors dominated the 2016-17 season from the beginning to until when they hoisted the Larry O’Brien Trophy. They are the most unstoppable team in NBA history.

If the Warriors never got KD, that team would’ve easily beat the Warriors. They were on fire the whole season and only lost one game in the playoffs before meeting GS in the Finals. If you count the title that the Oklahoma City Thunder won as the Seattle SuperSonics, and the Washington Wizards won as the Bullets then you should also count the titles won by other teams that have changed their names such as Rochester Royals for the Sacramento Kings, The Warriors when they were in Philadelphia and the 6ers when they were the Nationals.

Those champions could count, but they were 40win seasons (41,43) that preceded the shot clock (Royals) and the 80/82 game regular season (72 games when the Sixers won their first chip as the Nats.). Both franchises had better winning seasons than their early championship seasons in terms of number of games won and win shares.

If you limit the Pacers to their NBA years, 1998 or 2000 (The Finals in 1998 were REALLY the ECF, where you had the 2 best teams in the league face off). If you look at their ABA years though, it's a tough call between their 3 (more than any other ABA team!) championships - but probably the last one with George in his prime added to the rest of their long-time core.
