No matter how many videos are there about the 2011 Mavs, I will not get tired of watching their story. I am a KD fan and I witness and respected Dirk even more when he schooled that young OKC team in 2011. That one ring changed his entire legacy for the better, from a top 30-40 player of all time to possibly a top 15. Not bad
@colossalko
@colossalko 2 ай бұрын
If you think dirk nowitzki is a top 15 player all time, you shouldn't have any basketball opinions. As A PF, by far the least deep position in the NBA, you could make the case he's borderline top 5. That places him around the top 25 at best. And then you got active guys like Giannis (who will probably pass him) and AD (who is arguably better when you take into account his defense). Basketball fans like to disrespect Dirk. But you don't have to overcompensate in the other direction.

I remember when I watched the Dallas Mavericks win their first-ever NBA championship that year. I knew the Mavs were gonna dominate the Finals and win it all. The team had several veteran players who played crucial roles. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler, Peja Stojaković, Brendan Haywood, Brian Cardinal and Jason Terry were all key contributors, and their experience was a significant factor in their success. Those guys were 30 years old or older. They won their only NBA title as the oldest team in the league.🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀

Dirk Nowitzki along with... Jason Terry Jason Kidd Shawn Marion Tyson Chandler These guys are not just some role players. Most past their prime yes, but this was an assembly of some very very good basketball players and the bench (yes I know Jet wasn't a starter) was very deep. The way the Mavs won with only one super star was because at no time was there not 5 players on the court that could win a game. Great team that year! It was so disappointing when Cuban broke the team up.

2011 playoffs really aren't talked about enough. Mainly for two reasons; 1. Kobe and the 2-time champion Lakers were embarrassed by the Mavs, forcing a complete dismantling of that team. 2. LeBron and his newly formed super team got throttled. It is mainly because fans of these players don't wanna accept that both LeBron and Kobe were outplayed by supporting casts.
