Man Utd won't be as gutted as Ashworth. He was employed by NUFC and on gardening leave so breaking the NDAs as he has breaks non football laws that have strict and proven penalties. He, not Man Utd, would be personally libel for breaking the NDA, personally libel for any losses NUFC could associate to him for taking confidential documents to a competitor, legal costs for everyone involved in a court case and the court can then ban Ashworth from working with any competitor of the affected companies for a period of the courts choosing. Companies don't mess around with people at his level.

Thanks for the Newcastle content. Both signings raises the base level of our squad which has been shown that it needs improving with the injuries this season. The signings will release money to buy a GK RW CF which are priority IMHO. If we sell some of the lesser players mentioned then Ederson I would go for to replace Longstaff as hes in more hybrid 6/8. With Joelinton Tonali Bruno as starting midfield we would then have Ederson, Anderson Miley White and possibly Willock as back ups. I can see the No 6 role being switched between Tonali and Bruno in games probably falling more on Tonali with his extra pace with Miley being developed into a No6 long term as per EH comments.

Love to see both of them in a Newcastle shirt. Very smart business, and double smartnto get them done early. Biggest problems Man Utd have with signing players at the moment is 1) toxic atmosphere and 2) nobody knows who the manager is gonna be. There will be instant pressure on any incoming players, and potentially a horrible atmosphere to cope with. Newcastle however is more of a "soft landing" for players coming in, they'll be introduced gradually, given time to train, v compete, show what they can do and win the starting position. There's also stability at the top, and clearly a very friendly and positive atmosphere around the place & among the players. I think everybody understands now the rise of the Toon is legit, it's a case of whether players coming in want the instant top tier football & silverware, or are prepared to work for it. The attitude is all important, but we've seen already Eddie knows this all too well. I'm biased as a Toon fan, but what player wouldn't want to be part of the group who breaks the 55 year juju and finally brings a major trophy to St James' Park? I understand that might not be a big enough draw to tempt the elite level pllayers to join us, but hopefully we can tempt these lads. One thing's for sure, no-one involved could have done more to make joining Newcastle seem like an attractive prospect at the minute. I fear the rebuild & reversal of fortunes of Man Utd is still some way off. Hopefully that works to Newcastle's advantage in getting deals done.

I'm concerned about Lloyd Kelly's injuries and considering Newcastle's injuries this season it just doesn't seem sensible to add another injury prone player to the squad. I honestly don't know a lot about him ability wise but I do know he's played fewer games than Callum Wilson over the last 2 seasons. I don't want us going anywhere near Pedro Neto for the same reason. He's averaged about 17 league appearances (not starts. appearances) a season over the last 3 seasons. Also averaged 1 league goal a season. OK goals aren't everything and he's got some good stats for creativity but as an attacking player you still have to come up with a few more goals than that. And yet for some reason a fee of £50-60 million is being talked about for him.

It's makes sense for both players to want to go to a team in the accendency not one on the slide. Only goal difference separated them last season but that doesn't tell the whole story. At one time Newcastle had 11 first team players out, no striker and had to field a 17 year old kid and pensioners (sorry Ritchie and Dummet) who hadn't played in two seasons yet still finished 7th. With better luck they should have gone further in the champions league(dodgy penalty extra time) Manchester United had a lot of injuries too but it would have been a travesty if they finished above Newcastle. Love your knowledge of the game and the players Alice, I'm sure ETH if he stays gets some decent players in given funds. 😊

I'd be very happy if we get them both and for the start of the window, we've been linked heavily with the Valencia keeper who looks a good signing and £30million deal, olise (£60million) and sesko (£40million) which I think will be us at our FFP limit, not sure if that will include selling the likes of miggy and wilson maybe we would get £30million for them both, plus a few players like lewis, Fraser and dubravka, all I'd suspect would be nominal fee's

There have also been at times Howe has switched to a back 3 with wing backs. We can easily manage with all of these players next season given all of the above. If Botman recovers well from his ACL I’d imagine Lascelles being moved on in January or next summer but Burn, Botman or Schar won’t be sold in the summer.
