One thing with this episode we never at the end found out how the deal went through we only know the cost. Everton milked it because they needed money and Gordan was a prospect. Then they altered their mind and took the cash up front because they knew that would ease pressure. I still think Gordan has much more to offer but I could have got two players for that. Half the reason we wanted hin was becos he knew the league, English and age. That’s a policy we have where we straight away came out and said we prefer British players but that brings more cost. Stupidest transfer I’ve seen is get so far was tonali. We wanted a big name who they expected would guarantee Europe exp and it back fired because that was another 45-50m which again could have got us two players. And those players we badly needed attacking wise! For instance look at Brighton, they’d going to get osman in the summer. Brentford are landing nusa. Gurraisey is valued near the same amount. Gudmundsson, guerra, doure, bergwin, then inacio for defence all those etc etc. two of any of these and we’d have been set. And we could have spent again also, sounds simple. But we wasted money. And we wanted two targets costing us over 100m in Gordan and Sandro. We could have got 4-5 players for that at top quality. So yeah it’s good we have a vision. We have spent well mostly but I can’t help but wonder what could have been.
