I really liked this video. I enjoyed seeing someone kinda explain how confusing some figures are unlike the super experienced people who know what to do.

Thanks Celeste, that means a lot as that’s what I wanted to capture - I find the building part of the hobby most frustrating at the moment as I need to improve a lot!

There's a guy on etsy who sells 3d printed weapons and arms with holes for magnets. He also has the cyclic ion which only comes in the commander box. I was also terrified of putting the wrong weaponry on my crisis suits so that was super helpful.

Wow, didn't realize how time consuming they are to put together, they look great.

Yeah they're pretty intense! Today's the day I build 5 more of these, will be interesting to see how much quicker it is now I'm familiar with building 3.

This video is seven months old so I've properly got nothing enlightening that you don't know yet future tim bear. But commenting will help the algorithm and I really like these videos. To build models more quickly I'd recommend clipping out the pieces and laying them on the instructions, really speeds things up. Also filing down with sandpaper seems like overkill, I just use the back of a hobby knife. I used to do it myself and once the primers down I can't tell any difference between sanding and a quick scrape. And magnetising... That's pretty hardcore, losing the pieces is a big risk. For all the stress and effort I mostly just pick something and stick to it. Crisis suits though, so many weapon options!

I missed this comment originally, which makes me sad as I like being addressed as future Tin bear! So I do just use the back of my hobby knife now and it's waaaay quicker as you say. I only recently spotted a tip to put it on the instructions from the awesome guys at The Painting Phase so I've been doing that too which speeds up clipping everything off first. Magnetising with Tau has made sense just because of the large number of weapon options as you say, but I've actually got pretty quick at hat now too and will be doing a video (or at least a short) on it soon as I used to find it so stressful. Thanks for liking and commenting, the algorithm will indeed enjoy that!

For a broadside it's better to magnetise it at the weapon barrel, and then convert it so the rockets from the rocket arms can sit on the gun

what figures do i need to start a army in warhammer
@TinBearStudios2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I cover that a bit in this video if it's helpful: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gp6rk3aKeqyKqpI There's also a fantastic comment at the top I've pinned by a more experienced player. But long story short, just jump in with whatever you find interesting and looks cool. If budget is a concern I'd definitely recommend the starter set, I loved it and it got me started really well.

my process is a bit different. I build in stages and paint as I build. there are areas that are very difficult, if not impossible to reach with a brush once assembled.
@TinBearStudios2 жыл бұрын
Me too! I'm trying to find a balance with painting in subassemblies as I don't want everything to take loads more time, but as you say there are just some areas which are stupidly difficult. The only reason I built these fully was to attend a tournament which was WYSIWYG. Thanks for the helpful comment as well as watching, means a lot to a new creator like me.

@@TinBearStudios I'm currently working on 10 pathfinder and 20 fire warriors. I put on one head and realized that you need to put on the arms before the head. otherwise, the weapon won't match the heads angle. fortunately, that model is the squad leader and his pose doesn't have him aiming his weapon.
@TinBearStudios2 жыл бұрын
Ha, I literally just did the same with my 10 fire warrior squad last week! I put one head on (unfortunately not the squad leader in my case) and was like...oh no.

Have you tried taking all the parts for one figure off the sprue,clean them all up and then throw them together all in one shot? Snip ,file,snip file snip file, gets old real fast! Snip snip snip file file file build build build has a good beat!! Lol!
@TinBearStudios2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a good shout! I have on some simpler models (Space Marines) but can get a bit lost sometimes with the parts. I think I could do it with my next Crisis suits though :)

@@TinBearStudios j do a lot of military kits ,mostly stuff like patriot missile system or s300 etc qite a lot of tanks too and some have rediculous mould lines and worst of all mould release pin marks!!! They are seriously horrible to clean up and fill with putty etc! I still do the snip snip clean clean etc as i cant see the end the other way!!! Lol! I suppose each has their own route to the finish line though and your stuffs great so your doing it right enough for you! Enjoy!
@TinBearStudios2 жыл бұрын
That sounds seriously cool, would love to see your work if you're on Instagram or something! Yeah I think cleaning mould lines is my least favourite part of the hobby, I wish I could enjoy it but it just feels like it takes forever.

I bought a set of crisis suits and I'm now concerned that the load out choices I made might be illegal or to overpowered to use. Honestly don't even know if that actually possible but in my eyes I think so
@TinBearStudios2 жыл бұрын
They're a great set to build, pleased you've built yours and I wouldn't worry about load out too much - not a lot of people care too much about WYSIWYG (as long as you're consistent) and it's not the end of the world to play them how you've built them.

Your weapons hit the shoulder pads right? Obviously too late now, but for anyone building these: DO NOT glue the jetpacks in (not needed as they are firm enough just pushing them in). DO NOT glue the shoulder pads on until you've magnetised/dry run your weapons (these were the last things I glued after I'd checked all variations fit). Be prepared to flare them upwards. The burst cannons and flamers will not fit if you glue your shoulder pads down like this. The box art is deceiving - only the plasma and fusion will fit. The bursts cannon/flamer/sheild will not fix OVER the shoulder pads. The rear of the weapons will foul on them, unless you mount them super far forward/side mount which looks average...
