As a returning player who took 4+ years out of the game, 100% I would not be playing without LSBs. I left because you had to chase the latest meta or your crystal income was cut-off in squad arena. Now, I'm free to farm what I want and enjoy being competitive GAC. If my farm ends up overlapping with an LSB I'll happily take the easy progress. Jabba was definitely a surprise to everyone (I was expecting SEE bundles) and that might mean no GL farm is safe right now, but there are plenty of good options that are safe from LSBs for those that don't want to feel like their investment was wasted.

I played the game from launch till the release of the Yoda/Emperor legendary Events as life got in the way I came back last year around GL Leia release and I was overwhelmed with everything that I had missed and was behind, I didn't even realise what GL were for a month lol, because of LSB, I can now catch up on alot of the things I missed, but because I missed so much time my progress is slower than most because of the amount to catch up, Id hardly say I whale but LSB bridge the gap and I probably wouldn't be playing if they didn't exist.

I very much agree and I dont think that most lsb players are noobs either because it's either old players who understand mods and character mechanics or it's new players who learn mods and teams through .gg.

I have only bought LSBs last Christmas as a small present to myself, and just this week for a Christmas present again. But ive just been farming like normal and enjoying myself ❤

Farming is far from dead, ive bought most lsb and i still have a vast inventory to build and farm... i took a 2 year break and these lsb have been a nice way to be relevant joining a guild again

I do agree with the sentiment expressed in some of these comments. Free to play players have zero to complain about. They are just along for the ride. With planning, a free to play player can achieve almost anything this game has to offer. I have three accounts: two pay to play and one free to play account. The free to play account is really fun and the experience exposes some of the issues associated with spending. There is nothing like the feeling of climbing into top five in fleet arena or beating a light speed bundle player in GAC on a free to play account. For those who are free to play, here is one piece of advice and one lesson: enjoy the ride and understand that the world owes you nothing.

The important thing is just enjoying the game, whether you spend or don't spend any money. I just see the lsb as an opportunity for new players to be where the most of the playerbase is, which is actually a nice thing.

The truth is buying one or more finished characters was going to come to swgoh sooner or later. The problem now is, what is the point of the game especially when the main purpose of GAC is to get crystals which was used to farm for shards or buy materials to level up your character? For me I keep coming back to the game because there is a reward for all the grinding and material hoarding that I do.

The biggest issue about LSB is the fact that now you have a bunch of relic characters that sit around without mods nor Zetas and are basically useless until you're ready to invest in what they are missing. One way that CG could've done it differently would be to create a new tab in the journey guide called " Lightspeed journeys" where you could do one journey after the other according to different bundles. For example, the 1st one could be SLKR which would unlock after you buy the proper bundle for it. Then you would require a SLKR let's say R7 with ultimate to unlock the next LS journey and their associated bundles. That would've been so awesome to see plus the mods/zeta crush wouldn't been as bad.

Unrelated to LSBs but I wish there was a PvE version of GAC or some similar game mode that isn't so PvP reliant on getting crystals and gear. I understand this is what Conquest is kinda for but maybe something smaller that I could just play and test out my teams on a daily/semi-daily basis.

It does suck at times to be finished with all the content in 30min or 1hr and then have nothing to do with all the characters you worked for(or paid for). It would be nice if there was something to just do.

I would honestly like a Conquest prep mode where it would know what you did last Conquest, and point you in the right direction to meet your goals for the next Conquest. Something with rewards along the way, but not required for daily missions.

I will never get people complaining LSBS coming for the characters they farmed, it was always going to happen at some point. I for example am happy that I saved these 20-30$ by farming them.

My issue with the new ones is the time between release and LSB, I have no problem with 3+ year old characters or the two new tuskens along with the older ones, that's a catch up mechanic but when it's characters that you've just finished farming from release, cause they are 1-2 years old, then it starts to get bad. At that point why even farm? What do you even farm? Should I farm GL ahsoka or baylin or jar jar or just wait a year or two?

This game is about farming stuff, if you don't get satisfaction from it and would rather buy yourself it over 2years then the whole point of a game is kinda lost. Games are meant to be fun not keeping you wondering if your progress was meaningfull. I had a Wampa and Finalizer packs dropped onto my face 1 week after I finishing farming these toons. Was I worried? No, I just saved 50$ with it and was happy my guildmates were getting something good for themselves :D

I just started two months ago. I've watched quite a few videos, and I realise that I simply cannot catch up, nor can will I likely ever be able to spend enough time to get anywhere in the game. I don't have the correct ships, and get trounced every time I do a Fleet Arena battle. I'm supposed to farm certain characters who I can then use to farm the characters I want - and it looks a long way away, and even if I farm them okay I can never seem to level them up due to lack of resources. I've watched the videos on how to get enough credits but none of them are really doable when you just start unless you luck out and "find a good active guild". I grind shards and stuff and have just got to level 7 for both Light and Dark side missions, and just realised that the default guild I was in was dead, and just moved to one which at least did things - and had my first Hoth thingie.... I had always considered taking the Hyperspace Bundle, but never did because I felt that I was on the verge of quitting anyway, and it's almost a mark of shame that "you weren't good enough to do this without paying your way up". To be honest, I likely won't last long if I don't buy that Hyperspace Bundle going on discount in a few days - I simply will not have the years left in me to do this, and to get the beloved characters I want. It's like this - people who have played a long time and grinded their way to where they are usually prefer FtP as it's what they did. They spent the last few years getting to where they are, and that's great. Some of us late starters don't have a few years, but the Gatekeepers want us to remain "LSB noobs". Maybe we don't deserve to play, maybe our job is to be the little noob that the big guy can show off how great he is to. At one extreme, a whale spending thousands of dollars paying his way to the top may seem nasty, but many of us would be happy paying smaller amounts to save a few months of grinding which we can ill-afford to spend. Not paying because I want the best team to beat someone else's FtP Jabba with my cheap off-the shelf Jabba, but because I genuinely will not be able to get the stuff I want e.g. a Prequel trilogy Jedi team of Eeth Koth, Aayla Secura, Bariss Offee, Luminara Unduli etc.... Does that make me unworthy to play?

This is a good comment. You are absolutely correct in that you'll never catch up. I'm mid-late game and I still have that feeling today. CG designed this game to feel like you constantly need to keep up. I take the approach of getting your account in the right place, similar to building an engine. When you build an engine you have good knowledge of how it works and runs and what it needs. If you buy a Ferrari engine, it'll be difficult to understand what it takes to run and maintain it. The LSB are great value for catching up, but it doesn't supplement the remaining investment you need to put into having a team that is ready to compete. So don't feel pressured to buy LSB and don't feel like LSB is enough to catch up with accounts to aspire to have. Try to find a good guild with a good community, have fun with the game as there are lots of older characters to farm; and over time the different aspects of the game will open up to you when you are ready.

I think it’s a little ridiculous to say that Kyros alone killed farming. If all the characters didn’t have Kyros people would finish their farms pretty fast. This game is a marathon not a sprint. If we didn’t have Kyros people would say something else killed farming like signal data or CCB’s or bronzium etc. etc.

Yes and very much no. Bad luck can seriously set you back. Days in a row with no shards isn't fun, then add kyros on top(with the potential of no/little of those too).

@ on average it takes roughly 3 months to farm a character. Adding +/- a week is a less than 10% difference in farming shards. 3 months and one week and 3 months are almost the same in a game that takes years to “complete”

I know they won't do it, but if LSB's were announced early, maybe some people wouldn't be up in arms when a new one releases because they farmed X instead of Y. The feeling of farming being dead comes from the fact that there's no heads up and burnt out players would rather wait for a LSB than do anything to fix up their roster on older teams. At this point that's kind of what I'm doing when it comes to Old Republic and Sith Empire, because I know at some point they'll be put into a bundle. When Tuskens and Jawas came out I knew for a fact I wasn't going to farm them manually, so it let me skip them. Now, if they released bundles at a slower rate, then maybe farming would be more justified, but if they're going to have a new batch every 3 months, then why farm old content, just wait with the wallet.

As a newer player that’s a lsb only player, I really like lsb as it allows for a necessary catch-up mechanic in a game this massive, especially with the push to focus on newer content. I was really intimidated starting about a year ago, as the game is really big, but lsb has allowed for me to play catch-up a little, which I think is helping new player retention for people willing to pay a little to get a head start.

Buying anything is just a way to speed things up. If you already have it, oh well. Nothing lost, you got to have the new toy before other people. One way or another, you can get everything in the game. Whether it takes you two years, or $50 and you get it today. The other thing is, if you don't like it, don't buy it.

Nooch I love your videos, I have been playing for 2 years now officially at 8 mil GP and I would like to say because of these bundles I have yet to finish a farm by myself. It's been great in terms of getting teams faster but the delayed gratification is officially dead now that I will have 4 gls in 2 years and who knows how many more because of "cheap" bundles

I like the grind, I like that the game is a marathon, not a sprint. However, some teams - the Jawas and Tuskins for example - I have always wanted to get up to nice levels (I just like Jawas, not that they're useful) but I never had time or resources to dedicate to them. Those bundles were a total gift. Will I ever get my Inquisitors or bad batch up? Maybe, someday. Not anytime soon. But a bundle? Hell yeah!

Great and valid points brought up by all. Wanted to comment on the notion that free to play players can’t advance in Grand Arena. Up here in Kyber, I’ve routinely fought people who have all the “toys” and have no idea what do with them. Either they are modded poorly, or the defense doesn’t make sense (placing a team easily off meta countered), or being predictable by setting the same defense every time. Is it much harder to move up? Absolutely. This problem existed before LSBs with players who spent big money in the game. Will the best trump card in Grand Arena be having the deeper roster? Yes. Is it impossible to move up? No Having a sports car doesn’t mean a damn thing if you don’t know how to drive it.

My life has been so much better since I stopped caring about GAC at all. My account is almost 10 mil and I’m sitting in Auro2 after being in Kyber for about a year. Maybe the squish was good for me because I don’t stress about the game at all anymore and I’m now in a lower guild and it’s a peaceful life.

I really resonate with some of these comments. I have never been a fan of Jabba and haven’t ever had any desire to farm him. However, he’s extremely important to the game, so when his lsb dropped I was thrilled id be able to get him for minimal investment. However, I’m very excited to start farming Baylan soon so even if there was a Baylan lsb I wouldn’t buy it because I enjoy farming and unlocking characters I like.

The thing with the comment about incentivising people to go for the unaccelerated farms is a good one - I'm able to sort of side farm Imperial Remnant at the moment as I'm somewhere close to where I want to be wtih the older stuff thanks to a few select Lightspeed bundles (the Jabba one came out on the day that I hit G12 with my final Jabba requirement, Krstantan...grrrrr). I've also been playing on and off for years and I remember farming before they brought in accelerated characters, so I can deal with 1 shard hard node farms because I'm used to it. It pushes engagement with the newer content, which - to be honest - I can completely understand.

The gas bundled came up right after I finished farming for gas. I will admit I was upset at first. Not because of all the work I put into it but because all of these people that now got the requirements I worked for months for. I wasn’t even at 1 million at that point. I started farming for GAS day 1 of starting the game so that’s all I had on my roster. . So it hurt a little. But I realized as you said I can’t let it bother me. I realize that’s my choice, and I can’t let other peoples choices and actions bother me. In other words, I’m fine with it now but it did bother me at first.

The one issue I have with LSBs are people who's rosters you can tell are only at where they are because of LSBs like when I see an opp who has GAS reqs at LSB level, r3 ewoks, r3 geos, light sped BAM, r5 FO I just have a massive issue with it if it's their only characters. Don't get me wrong, I love LSBs and have bought some myself but atleast I have actually farmed other teams like traya, iden, SK, malak etc... but I just hate when someone is only strong because they bought LSBs and put no time or effort into actually gearing, relicing star farming

Old GAC was killed for 2 reasons: 1- The pettiness of players who would purposely drop their GP to get easier matches. Either by not activating characters or removing mods. Top GAC players were amazing to watch because it felt like a strategic game. Before DC or even before relics, mods were the only power threshold and it was really fun to outsmart your opponent by setting traps on defense or going offmeta on offense. 2- This is tied to 1. Because so many ppl didnt progress their GP on purpose, CG started to lose money. Majority of players became hoarders so no need to buy the packs or buy crystals. Thats why they took out crystals from arena and tied them almost exclusively to GAC. Now if you want the big payout you gotta be competitive. Furthermore, DC were included so whales can really get an edge. Back then, conquest didnt have the bonus nodes to farm DC so it was disgustingly P2W. In anyway, imo it was us players that caused the good GAC to dissapear. CG just altered the deal. Maybe DC would have arrived anyway but if we had a good GAC mode, who knows. They would of dedicated resources to revamp TW instead.

The way i look at it, is if you finished ur farm and they release an lsb for that character thats just money saved that u can spend elsewhere, no point getting mad about it🤷🏻‍♂️, F2Ps can still beat people who exclusively have LSBs if they have better mods and theyre in less of a zeta crunch in comparison, asw as people potentially shifting their focus for each LSB released

In response to the catch up argument, jabba and leia bundles aren't catch up. If the bundle has 1-2 year old characters who everyone else has just finished grinding for then it's not catch up and that's the problem, these bundles make farming pointless, why not just wait a year for the bundles? LSBs were fine when it was 3 years or older, that was a catch up mechanic, these are not catch up bundles and you can't plan farming anymore, i could farm new characters but they might be 20 quid in a year.

My main account has bought a lot of light speed bundles. I find the account only farming mods and hoarding gear pieces. If it wasn't for my ftp account, I wouldn't be playing. Needless to say, I have stopped purchasing bundles all together because of this issue.

I bought LSBs because there is so much of the game I was locked out of doing. Either because I didn't have strong characters or didn't have particular characters. It isn't fun to just look at modes open a you are done before you even started because you can't engage. And then it is mode after mode like that. In part that is because the farming is trash because of too much RNG. You can spend your five tries(without refresh) and not get a single shard. I have some nodes that happened to a few days in a row. It feels defeating to not make any progress. That is likely part of it to get you to spend. Still there is a point where you can have enough to engage and so the lack of gain for a particular thing isn't as defeating. I feel I'm at that point now. Still disappointing, but may over all account progress isn't set as far back each time that happens. I'm still held back in a lack of credits, which is its own annoyance. What had me quit years ago(until recently) was all of that on top of constant ads for other ea games. At least that part is gone now.

Had it not been for LSBs I would’ve quit the game. Considering the new content coming they’re pushing down our throats, I didn’t wanna play catch up for years to come then add on another years to come for that new content. Ship grinding was the worst part and still is followed by characters (unaccelerated especially so). LSBs bring in revenue, new players, old players, and really keeps the game going for CG. If you want to remain F2P, more power to you! It’s optional!

Regarding the comment that said they are "going up against a bunch of noobs who bought all the LSBs and just do something and autowin"... yeah I don't understand what he is talking about. I am in Bronzium 3 at the moment and bought some (not all) of LSBs and have two GLs (Leia and Rey (Rey with the help of the LSBs)) and am constntly facing opponents with all 8 GLs and nearly all characters reliced or at least Gear 12 which is a pain in the butt, because they just put down three or four GLs in def first row and there is no way a small spender (that only buy LSBs) can push through that if they just started playing the game 1-2 years ago or as I did; return to the game after not playing since 2017. Without the LSBs I would have turn down the game again after a Year or so (which would have been april this year), because it becomes very frustrating if you are not able to get in to a decent guild and can't compete in PvP which slows your already slow farming even more down.

Every lsb so far has always foreshadowed something or answered a new problem. Watch they are going to rotate old raids again starting with krayt since Jawas tuskens and jabba bundles are perfect for it. I'm kidding but that would be kind of wild. But for real original kylo/rey bundles were for the new gl legendary event thing that comes monthly after conquest. Jabba/hutt cartel/bounty hunters has something big coming. CG is not stupid and this stuff has specific planning around what is and isn't included so something larger at play we just don't know yet.

To BE fair lsbs give the Option to have nice Teams which you would simply Not get otherwise. Thinking of slkr, Ray, prepared scoundrills, night Sisters. All of those Teams are super fun to play but you cant get them If you want a efficient path to Farm stuff.jabba IS Not one of them to BE fair but Most lsbs follow the rule that the Units are Something that you would normaly Not Farm...

It's funny to read comments where people would leave the game if it weren't for LSB. This is a game about grinding. Everything in the game gives rewards. You get packs that are needed for certain events for even greater rewards. And receiving rewards, as well as accessing new characters, brings you pleasure in the game. And not getting them for money without knowing what to do with them and why you needed them. LSB is a cheat code that push you to the end. Remember the Veild shot? And what happened when he bought LSB? He just left the game with no word about it. Because its boring. LSBs are boring. And lazy.

The issue of whales and f2p is not only the emotional toll on some people time and effort be a joke thanks to few seconds and money. The other reason is pvp some players want to be competitive and climb the submit and lets be honest there is times where little money makes huge gaps that cannot be overcome sometimes. games need 3 different pvp categories f2p vs f2p, Whale vs whale and any vs any i understand it might to much effort to make such systems or is just greed and laziness of nothing making a good pvp. My new account in grand era encounters only whales the teams have no synergy but wipe me out with out a chance feels discouraging. While my older account has been lucky encounters the team are more synergetic but they dont feeel like 50 lv beyond just 1-5 making the encounter feel more human in way like is fair and i just need to play smart to win. games really need to learn that you can not mix some fishes with others in the same tank is bad and it only ends horrible more often then not.

This is a fear. Very few games last this long and many do something big for a last push for money before shutting down a few months later.
