The east wall has fallen, and Lord Berrian with a single brave footman defend the town against bloodthirsty wolves. In the thick of battle, Lord Berrian leaps into action abandoning the footman to his fate against three wolves yelling, "Hey, buddy! Just stay there and take it!" hoping to run up the ridge in time to trigger the log trap that would surely kill the footman if he somehow survived that long. 16:00 No wonder the armies immediately retreated when this guy got stabbed.

The Game looks good and all but. ‘Bannermen?’ Isn’t that cutting pretty close to Bannerlord?
@ouanlynch64045 жыл бұрын
Unlike Bannerlord, Bannermen is actually a game. So it would be more accurate to now say, "isn't Bannerlord cutting it close to Bannermen?"

Ouan Lynch; well that’s true and all and Bannerlord May never come out, but I wouldn’t just call it a coincidence that this Fantasy, Medival esq game is called Bannermen, when there is (will be) ((will never be) a game called Bannerlord that is also a fantasy medival game that has a large following
@ouanlynch64045 жыл бұрын
@@aydengartenlaub I have been waiting for Bannerlord since late 2012 at least. I do not doubt that the developers of the game are unfamiliar with the Mount and Blade series, but to call it a cashout I feel is unfair. Bannermen is an apt name as you have a lord who raises men and order them to their death. Opposite this is Bannerlord's allegiance system where you manage fiefs for another lord/ king (until you get ambitious of course). In Bannermen you start off as a Lord and raise men to fight RTS style, whereas the openworld RPGesque nature of Bannerlord fits a different vein entirely. While there are M&B fans who play RTS games and vice versa, I do not think that this game is a cashout of the long hyped but ever distant Taleworld's megaproject.

Bannerlord, the greatest fantasy *medical* game the world will never know.
@ouanlynch64045 жыл бұрын
@@radradishradiator I assumed a medieval typo/ autocorrect snafu, but I found it funny too. Although, once you get a good enough doctor in your party, your men can survive some unbelievable injuries. I suppose it is in fact the greatest medical simulator as well.

Basically Warcraft 3 with a different skin. Some interesting things: That wood is also a "mine" changes the economy drastically. Overall the resource gathering, unit production and upgrade making seems a whole lot slower. Bad for the AI (as those are notoriously bad at planning ahead), but as it is focussed on Multiplayer it propably makes the game less rush and micro heavy.

Both Warcraft 3 and Age of Empires came from well established studios with teams of dozens doing the work, in the areas they're strong in, with plenty of experience and stable, although maybe not great, working conditions. Games like this are made by a few people, often times with someone trained in one field helping out/doing work in other aspects of the game, often scrapping by with shitty publishing deals, government subsidies, and dwindling savings account all while trying to keep a company alive while developing the game itself.

Please do not support Bannermen! They are constantly censoring and deleting critical comments instead of improving their boring and buggy clone of Warcraft 3! Please support other indie games and not this kind of disrespectful behavior of this cash-grabbing game devs!
@aliceshepard76235 жыл бұрын
You should have thought your words twice, they are an indie company and they need lots of good luck and some help to make their proyect work properly and for being able to keep working in it and in future proyects. You are even not right at all. So please, before talking like that about small companies, think it twice, or you can always pay 60$ for poo triple A games like Anthem and then another 60 in microtransaction for shitty unfinished goodlooking games. Help the small companies or you will end up playing what big ones want.

@@aliceshepard7623 I have thought my words thrice before posting them. I support tons of indie titles, but I do so with care. Did you completely ignore my argumentation? What they are doing is censoring. I cannot support that kind of behavior. I'm sure they have grabbed themselves a lot of money with their overpriced product, so don't worry about their financial status. They are scammers and that's why I must warn you! If you want to support that I cannot stand in your war, it's your own choice.

@@aliceshepard7623 Hi Alice, its about quality and it is quality that sells, doesn't it? If they are triple A games they are so for a reason. It is the gamer's perseverance, love and interest in those games that have made them AAA titles. You can't make poor products and expect the gamer to buy your game just because it was made by a small company. Instead, knowing you are a small fish in the sea of sharks you have to grow into a shark yourself. Stardew Valley and Planet Coaster were once owned by independent single man producers, smaller than the smallest company since they were a one man army. They produced gems. Also the game developers you refer to were once themselves small companies. Have you heard of Battletech. It launched the studio Hairbrained Schemes to the limelight. So produce a good game and you become one of the big companies, produce a bad one and people throw it away. Its good to support new and weaker publishers/developers but the average gamer will always gravitate towards the better game, not the lousy one. Its the psychology of gamers and well applies to everything. And who said small companies don't produce games that have glitches or are incomplete? I can mention tons. As for this game. I plan to test it and write about it. But it appears to be very generic, judging from the unit roster. Spearmen, archers, footmen, knights. Those were the basic units in any army. What sets the game apart? What makes it something unique so that people choose it over Warcraft? Are there multiple heroes you can upgrade endlessly? Are there many unique races to play from? What differentiates the game from others in the genre? The game also does not have many maps and few skirmish options (difficulty and customization settings) and most of all a single faction. There's no depth here. Its a copy of WoW or Spellforce 3, both games I enjoyed thoroughly. I don't have high hopes for this game. But I would be glad if you proved me wrong. Minor companies spend a lot of time producing their games. And some minor games are truly gems or highly under-rated. But that is usually rare. GTA/Battlefield/CoD/Assasins Creed/Total War are there at the top because the developers do something right. There is much to learn for the small developer. Ata Alavi, Game Writer.

@@ataalavi3963 I agree with you partially, not every game has to be super special and really different from all the others, but of course it helps a lot having it own personality :) . What I really dislike is all the hate there is always on internet, that can damage seriously small companies and it does. I think people should be nicer with small companies. And about Triple A games, they are becoming more greedy than ever, and you can see a lot of them with lots of bugs or lack of content because they want money money money money now, they do not care about fun any more (most of them). Fortuantely there are others that really deserve the name Triple A :) Thank you for your time and opinion. Pleasure talking to you :)
@ataalavi39635 жыл бұрын
@@aliceshepard7623 the pleasure is all mine. Being a game lover gaming debate is key to improving or promoting gaming culture around the world. The triple A companies sure grow hungry for profits and then introduce things like Denuvo on their games which overall effect game quality. These are the kinds of actions by top gaming companies I dislike. But I will be truthful. Reviewing a number of games it is always fun to play the AAA titles rather than games by developers who couldn't make a mark.
