I visited NYC in november 2017, and I randomly encountered her a couple blocks from times square. I was crossing a street at an intersection, and waiting for the light to turn. She turned and gazed at my face for a few seconds.. I didn't say anything.. the light changed and I crossed the street.. Who knows, maybe my "stock image" will be in one of her books someday 🤷‍♀️ I love her books, she is a wonderful writer, and I'm so thankful to be able to read her works

Once, I had a similar encounter with someone I'd seen on TV (at a supermarket). Another time, someone I'd seen on tv replied to my comment online

I don't think of writing as lies; I think of it as opening the doors to secret places in the universe and finding out who and what exists there. Like Alice when she fell down the rabbit hole.

I want that couch she's on. That color. It'll look good in the same room as my bookshelves on Nora Roberts and JD Robb collection.

Nora's JD Robb series is brilliant. I even find myself saying a lot of the futuristic words the characters use in the books (frosty, iced, etc.), not to mention a LOT of creative expletives. I often imagine a world where our cars can drive vertically as well as horizontal. Can you imagine? lol And, the Auto Chef.....hopefully one day soon we'll see that come into reality.

I came across a new author on amazon by the name "Mary Selseleh" . You go through a series of different emotions reading her books. I couldn't put the books down for days. Suer engaging and just different if you´re in for a new adventure.

So ya I like her even less now. I used to think that she used real people to inspire her or something like some do. There are plenty of people who are more than a little interesting. The thing also is that she repeats a lot of her themes. She really doesn't have as much quality as I'd like to see. I find her to be overrated as a writer. She's just not what fans go on and on about. I know many don't agree whatever though. My own thoughts are what htey are. I just wish that people would understand that she's not this amazing writer. The fact that she doesn't use anyone for refs at all... that just made all of her characters turn cold. Aloso if they aren't real then why would she want to talk to them? That question made 0 sense since they are't based off of real people!

Nora, you're so full of crap about no one being interesting enough to base characters on. What bullshit. You should read some more biographies on well known people who have lived and still do. Some of the most interesting people accounts have been non-fictions. She should get out of her own small bubble and meet more people. Seriously. It would greatly expand her horizons, I think.

this explains the reused feelings on her books! I know people personally who are internesting. I know that my own mother would have been a good inspiration. She went thru hell as a kid growing up in poverty 7 kids in their family. Her father was a drunk who abused the family badly. Long story short! My mother didn't turn out angry or hatefl. She went out of her way to help other's and smile and tell you that she loved you. And when she got sick with Huntington's Disase she'd tell us that it would be ok and that God has her. That he was awesome. Anyways the thing is that as you said there are more than a few people who are good to write about. Nora is a antisocial freak of nature. She needs to get otu and talk to real people. Sounds like her family who loved reading were anti socials like her...and if you don't base them off of people then why do you wanna talk to them later? How does that make any sense? They are lies as she put it. (rolls eyes) Nora sucks as a writer.

@@MSBowen-pk6ww Thank you for your thoughtful feedback! She Sucks as a person too, I have more than a hunch about. She comes off as cold and stuffy here in this interview. My deep condolences about your mom and happy she was a great, caring person and inspired you ☺💗

So many of her books seem to be set in the same places, both in the us and abroad. gets tiresome and rather dull after a while. Also What is with every other character having an irish or French name, lol? How about some Scandinavian or eastern European or Spanish, for starters. Nora, honey, do infuse some more variety in your characters and settings and so on.

SCORE I am not the only one who sees it! She is over rated and reuses everything she writes! Like O_O Why do people think it's awesome and she'sa moron if she thinks no one exists who is interesting enough to use as an inspiration! Like?!?! It made her charcgters go so cold now for me! I like her writing even less now! You are right about lack of variety for sure. The facts are because she writes so many books so close together it gives her no time to really breath and take a moment to write better. I'd rather have quality than quantity. Her writing stinks. As I said over rated writer for sure.

@@MSBowen-pk6ww Good hearing some solid agreement and support, thank u so much!! She's an asswipe and probably a bigot as well. She perpetuates the physical image crisis(favoring certain appearances overwhelmingly over others and valuing those more) in the United States as well. It is so apparent in her books with her characters.
