We have two grand pianos and my wife, Betsy, is a composer and a piano and composition teacher. Nora is very attached to Betsy. Beth Adelman, an animal behaviorist hired by the BBC to spend the day with Nora, feels that Nora saw the piano as a way to garner the kind of attention from Betsy that she saw Betsy's students getting. She also feels that Nora enjoys the sounds the piano makes.

We usually tend to underrate all kinds of things.The same with regard to a cat's feeling to music.On the other hand.....the tune "Cats On The Keys"is already an old one. and shows us the other way. And..what about the cat's spiritual properties??

Was that a secret hand signal I saw at 1:30? She has incredible technique and an amazing ear for music! Her duets are spot on, but her solo performances are greatly improved through the lessons! She also seems to love the adulation of her human friends whenever she performs well! Whatever the reason, Nora is the most INCREDIBLE piano cat that I have ever seen!! Her technique and understanding of the basics of piano are ASTONISHING, to say the very least! Animals are just wonderful, aren't they?

A friend sent this to me and I have to admit I thought "not another pet 'PLAYING' the piano". How wrong I was, Nora has true natural talent. Love how she stands up high to reach the black keys! She is a WOW cat, and adorable too. By the way, she could teach me a thing or two!

I think Nora's most interesting work was when someone was playing individual minor chords at random - then she found notes on her piano that formed a very interesting trail of sound weaving in and out of the chords!! I love her "dancing with her reflection"! Thank you for sharing these with us!!

This cat has a wonderful talent. He likes standing in the piano and hit a couple notes that sometimes may sound good or impresive. If this cat is thought somehow by some kind of trick to hit perticular notes he can play a full song and become quite famous. Of course this requires time, effort and a personal cat trainer. But like I said he does the difficult part: stand in the piano and hit notes , the rest can be accomplish.XD Good luck

I went to a university with a music school, and they had these teeny rooms with pianos in them. The piano students would be lying their heads on the keys, just as Nora does at 4:59. Priceless!
