They understand that to play EVERY chop and lick you know in EVERY song and setting is not desired. They’re playing the music. That’s what people enjoy. Not a godawful cacophony of chops. Any one these great musicians can chop with the best of em but they’re showing their musical maturity in what’s represented here and killin as a band.

black people not mellow anymore? All I here are chops these days. These guys can play so good but most times when left to groove musically they seems to play things to display skills over what the audience enjoy.

Well it doesn’t really because it was a musical showcase I could understand if they were accompanying an artist then would make sense for them to stay more in the groove and play the song in the pocket. I watch Mike and Bennett all the time they’re not busy musicians they are very seasoned with good placement and just so tasteful

@hammondboybennett1580 been watching for years, but even though they don't have an artist backing, they should stay mellow and groove around something nice. The business from start to finish was kind of overwhelming. Too staccato and especially since it has no real structured melody. Should have found a piece with a nice mellow groove, and then they get busy on the solos, etc. Would be more appealing and tasteful. Right away , it became obvious when the organ player started sustaining a bit even though the groove wasn't allowing him to do so because of the quick movements.
