Just a note: this is recorded in MONO, the Nord Pianos sound much better in stereo... But, it's good to evaluate how the Nord will sound in mono nonetheless, it should just be mentioned in the video/description...

Please if you can help me How to make the piano sound like this filter or effect between the (legato notes) or passing notes its sound great but i dont know how to do it in my nord:( Thank u so much
@elijahhultz2 жыл бұрын
The Nord was actually recorded in stereo. The reason why it came out mono was because the Nord Stage 3 has a feature called mono out and he accidentally left it on in this video.

Love your “style”, “sound” or “individual stamp” if you will when you play! I can identify a few influences, but you are quite clearly Bruce Hornsby’s love child! And that’s a good thing! 👍😂 keep up the good work!

I wonder if jack knows about the SynthPad 1 and 2 samples that came stock in Stage 2’s that almost every Nord user I know including myself uses as the foundation for almost every fat synth patch...

Hey Marcus, good point well raised Sir! I do know about those sneaky samples I just love the way the anapad sounds filtered down and I'm stuck in my ways. Thanks for watching and the insightful comment Stallion X

Jack, I'm not trying to start a heated debate here. I'm with you on the Curly Wurly Squirlies but I have to say the Sour Drumstick Squashies are far superior to the Refresher ones. But even the standard Drumstick Squashies are worth a try. It's just a classic vanilla and raspberry flavour, you can't fux with it.

@MusicalMissCapri6 жыл бұрын
You're right. I have the NS3 and my royal grand is in stereo. I recorded it through the headphone jack, the ones for the speaker/amp outputs seem to be mono.
@ZakiWasik6 жыл бұрын
Don't use the headphone output for recording. Best-case scenario you just get a mono recording. In the worst case scenario, you might get a recording where all of the sound that's supposed to be in the absolute center of the stereo image is gone. Sounds bad and weird. If you take a stereo cable to a stereo output and connects it to a balanced mono input (found on many audio interfaces and is supposed to use a stereo jack cable to reduce noise in a mono signal), everything that's the same on the left channel and everything that's the same on the right channel (i.e. everything in the center) will phase each other out.
@MusicalMissCapri6 жыл бұрын
No, my recording comes out in stereo.
@ZakiWasik6 жыл бұрын
What are you recording into? Most audio interfaces don't have stereo inputs.

Hi Hussein, sorry if I'm wrong here Sir but you mention a filter effect, would you like the filter to open up when you're holding down a chords?
@husseinkaraouni78224 жыл бұрын
@@jackduxburymusic thanks for reply dear btw i have a nord triple pedal but i can't do it.. Yess maybe you are right the magic sound when you're holding down a chords betwenn 0:40-0:41 you can tell me the steps?
@jackduxburymusic4 жыл бұрын
No worries Hussein, aorry if I'm not understanding correcrly mate. The chords (steps) at 0:40 is what I'd call an Em11 walk up to a G Chord. For the Em11 try this voicing LH: E B F# RH: G A D then the passing/walkjng chord LH:F# Octave RH: A D the for the G LH: G Octave RH: AD. The right hand pretty much stays the same. Hope that helps Sir.

Thank you man but i mean i want the reverb sound or filter settings when pass from note to another note not the name of chord thank u anyway
@jackduxburymusic4 жыл бұрын
Oh no worries, nothing fancy just normally I turn the filter down on the sample section with no resonance in the 12db/octave and use a smidge of the Stage reverb algorithm. Simples X

How do you record the Nord into the daw? just mono or stereo cables out from the Nord into an audio interface or with the midi usb cable
@hamishmacdonald38984 жыл бұрын
depends on the application - both will work however I prefer recording in MIDI
@elijahhultz2 жыл бұрын
If you want the sounds of the Nord then you'll need to use 2 mono cables and an audio interface and record it into your daw of choice. But if you are using a plugin of your choice on your daw of choice then you need to use a midi cable.

Great playing and voicings on the best keyboard in the world! Jack, you should also try one of the layer pianos on panel B, such as Ballad EP1, which has beautiful stereo chorusing without using an effect slot, for that expensive LA sound. Very very posh!😀

Is it just me or does the piano sound cheap sometimes? When you play the first couple single notes - it sounds very plasticy. I have yet to find a great stage piano that sounds great both solo and that cuts in a live band situation. 😥

I have a Yamaha P-120, it's from several years ago, but the action is great, and honestly, the rhodes and wurlitzer sounds on it are better than my Nord Electro 2. I haven't played the successors of the Yamaha P lines, but they have amazing action and really great Piano sounds. The couple string sounds are okay, one has the attack rolled off, the other is the same sound but straight attack for punchy hits. If you're looking to add pads and stuff like this Nord can do, it won't cut it.

Sounds beautiful. But not like a real piano. All Rolland are by far closest to a real piano sound. Nord is a beautiful sampled and processed piano sound. Artificial but beautiful.
