This course is so amazingly tricky. I've spent YEARS in Gran Turismo 6 and still have yet to master it in simulation, let alone the real deal. Some of the turns come up on you in strange ways, the Green Hell is a terrifying track to conquer. The crowning of the road in some sections is a foot or more difference from the edge. One must learn not only every turn, but how each area of road is slightly different from the last. All in all, this is the track that makes great drives, IMO. It is a combination of tricky corners, varying asphalt conditions, different crowning conditions, and endurance due to the length. Good luck to my fellow drivers if you ever plan to tackle this beast.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it could be due to the elevation change and speed, the dampers will unload at the top of the hill, causing the rear to become very 'light weight/floaty' feeling and with that, the wheels will spin easily and loose control... Road dampers and springs aren't the best for track driving...
@MyFavoriteDisease9 жыл бұрын
Jordan Taylor You're absolutely right. Another contributing factor is that it's the exit of a relatively slow corner, so drivers accelerate with quite a lot of wheel torque there.

If you notice it's because most drivers are treating the throttle like an on/off switch, and are stomping on it as soon as they can see the exit before the car is stable, listen to the engine sounds. They should be gently feeding it in.

I think once a year there is a rally where they go the opposite way

Seems it's very oily on those few corners. Especially after a light rain.

I wonder if the owners of Nurburgring keep track of what curves cause the most crashes, and if so, do they use those metrics to rework asphalt or concrete on the track to make is less slippery, or even straighten out some curves ?

I like how people brake in their FWD cars when they slide out, as if they have no clue how car control works.
@uzayonat4 жыл бұрын
If you are understeering with a fwd car, depending on where the weight of the car is, braking can help you.
@mooiboyace4 жыл бұрын
harakiru But when oversteering its best to give throttle to pull the car out of the slide. Braking while oversteering is almost always gonna result in spinning out.

Wie oft passieren solche Crashs beim offenen Fahren? Minütlich, Stündlich, Täglich?
@rallyeoberehe9 жыл бұрын

Having never been to the 'ring' could someone that has answer my question? Why does it seem that a majority of the spins happen in the right hander seen around 4:59-5:05? Does it go from on camber to off camber and that's why? Just wondering!
@TheMrDemonized7 жыл бұрын
there is a big climbing in that corner, which camera can't show, and also very bumpy tarmac. So, very low grip there. As you can see, drivers push gas too much early and get tricked

i think you could get ritch by opening a junkyard next to the track. (Copyright 03.10.2020 10:59 all right reserved to Rodati)
