Nice video. I can see myself on the observation platform from 1:46 to 1:50. What a ride. I chased 611 and 475 for the rest of the day.

Strasburg can't turn their own engines, let alone 611. I actually got to see the 611 come up to Ronks to use the water tower.

Grade Crossing (Long Long Short Long) with a little stutter on the last long, followed by moving backwards (3 short), followed by clear the track (repeating shorts or long wails)

Those are my favorite looking passenger coaches. I just love the style of the top. It’s just the kind I would have if I was a billionaire and had my own train

Yep, worlds oldest fully restored fleet of wooden coaches, the first class cars are especially awesome.

Also is it just me or do more than half of those coaches of 2 axle wheel trucks?
@joseph11845 жыл бұрын
To me it sounded like two crossing sequences and a reverse sequence accompanied by a bunch of other blasts from the whistle

What is the ghost whistle ?
@CoasterQ5 жыл бұрын
It's something every outgoing Strasburg train does at a certain point of the trip. They tell a story on the train about a ghost train but in reality, it is just the echo of the whistle in the valley.

Ow ok I didn’t now that , thanks for telling me

A rival railroad to the Strasburg once existed in the area. But over the years it had gotten a bad reputation, locals calling it the Old & Slow. With a reputation like that a railroad doesn't last very long, and when that day came the rails were ripped up so fast that the engines couldn't find their way back home. To this day when Strasburg's trains whistle, sometimes the ghosts answer, searching for live rails to carry them home. Or something like that is the story they give. Its fun.
