We lived aboard a Caribbean for 10 years and loved it. We had a full size under counter fridge and a full size under counter freezer . Also had a plumbed in fully automatic washing machine plus a tumble dryer.Heating was a 8kw drip feed diesel heater plus a 4.5kw Mikuni and a 2 KW Proper gas heater. The boat was a mile away from the average hire craft in terms of comfort for cruising and living aboard

Good blog Robin as you said for the first timer it shows that people are willing to come and help

Your honesty and openness are second to none. I won't feel quite so daft next time it all gets wobbly at a mooring! Keep 'em coming - you are rapidly becoming The Voice of the Broads. ;-)

Thanks Robin. I love watching your videos - aiming to take my first plunge on the broads one day soon. You're always informative and sharing your "mistakes" is so helpful. Please keep doing what you do. Finding a new video by you is an absolute joy. Cheers.

Hi Robin - After watching your series of videos, I convinced the boss to venture forth on a bathtub in 2017. 5 years and 4 holidays later (3 on SanSalvador), I continue to thank you for the San Selino series. Really sorry to ser you have taken a break from the channel. I miss your posts. I hope all is well - you have a genuine following of folks who have real affection for you and your videos. Take good care Dan Fisher

I’ve created a new home studio and await a new computer capable of editing the content I want to produce. It will be sporadic, less ‘day one and so on’ style but more about what I want to produce, when I want to - and if you and anyone else likes it too then that’s also fine by me.

Really good blog and it is nice that there were other boaters there to help you out. Really pleased.

Absolutely fantastic video! I love bathtubs! I love being so close to the water level 😃 Loved your mooring section! There's hope for me yet! Thanks so very much for being such a star! Can't wait for the next instalment! PS. I'm a Londoner who moved "North of Watford" and your accent reminds me of home! 🤣🤣

Bless you Robin. You've made me feel a whole lot better about a stern mooring I felt I'd completely messed up in May! Helen (YnysMon)

Hey - great video. And kudos for posting it even though its not the best stern on mooring there's ever been on the broads LOL. But like you said it does demonstrate the brilliant camaraderie that there is on the broads amongst boaters. It was doubly interesting for us because this is the very boat we hired from Richardson last July

Really enjoying this video. Always get one impatient perisher on the Broads when San Rafael went past.

That mooring cockup was brilliant happens to the best of us Robin. I'm wondering if the rudder has been reduced normally on this Buccaneers hard over full throttle kicks up more wash kicking the stern round. But for some reason not so much on bronze gem?

I agree, she did not like to move to port - but now see why - left hand prop and masses of 'prop walk' so tip is if you want to turn to right she will do it in her own length, but left hand turns are harder, which is also why in astern she wanted to always head right and not turn to left.

Not just me then! I did a textbook job getting out of a tight spot in Wroxham then made a proper horlicks of it at ,you got it,Ranworth. Worth it for the ice cream though! (45' of Wood's boat.)

Fundamental rules of boat handling on the dock -1. When you do it perfect there's no bugger in sight. 2. When you cock it up every cockpit and every inch of jetty is covered with people.

Hey, Rob! I have been on a bathtub boat in 2018! It was called magic gem 3 and I know how it feels to drive one

I had a similar experience at Ranworth on Amber gem in 2016. It was my first time back on the broads for 22 years, I just couldn't get the boat lined up, panicked, starting revving the engine too much. I'm liking the "orange tub" mainly because it can get under all bridges, maybe even potter heigham! Did you have trouble mooring at Ranworth because of the front steering position and the lowness of the boat? Oh and any news on the "lion Inn" as we are going on the broads in August. Great video as always. 👍

Lion Inn is open and very nice - with a good menu and not so fancy prices as White Horse at Neatishead.

Maybe you have just gotten used to bow thrusters? lol, just kidding. It just goes to show that 1, no one is perfect and 2, there are usually some kind folk around prepared to offer a helping hand. Very enjoyable watch as always, TLR.

hi robin Ive hired a bath tub boat as I couldn't find one of the posher boats within my budget and dog friendly its the budgeting for such a posher boat is the stumbling block for us as we are on a limited budget if I could have afforded one of the other boats that were within our budget and dog friendly I would have hired one instead of swan radiance

its a wonder these orange boats aren't called easy boats after easy jet LOL
