@Bobofwestoregonusa ur right abt us playin short, we do dat b/c when ur outside the further the note travels the longer it sounds. Norfolk's tubas sound better in a gym than they do outside b/c by the time the sound reaches the other side of the field it sounds mushed & they dont sound like one horn like you're supposed to. We (TBI) sound better outside than we do in a gym. Every school has its own playing style. TBI, The Rock, & J-State are the only sections i know of dat plays short like dat.

@KillaPhi2k11 I hope u dont REALLY think Redan was da first section to ever play that. I can think of at least 15 high schools in FLA and Alabama that play that and at least 6 colleges that same call-out. But you're still in high school so i wouldnt expect you to know any better...

Damn, SCSU really sounds better this year. But they still play with a lot of edge in their sound. I get that it's the style they go for with their playing. But I like Norfolks rounder darker sound. Honestly, I think TBI sounded better on Kings. Great sounding horns and they do a lot of compensating for the way they play. It's easier to sound REALLY good playing like that on a king. Still two damn good sections.

STFU WAS MADE BY REDAN. IT WAS A BASELINE TO A SONG THEY PLAYED IN A JAMBOREE IN EITHER 2006 OR 2007. SO THEY MAYBE HIGH SCHOOLER BUT THERE ACTUALLY RIGHT ABOUT WHERE IT CAME FROM.

SCSU tubas got it...cleaner and they picked funkier bass beats...very talented though. That was a clinic...VSU tubas are another good group.

@SCSUHootieHoo191 06-08 was the truth for TBI man. Conns have more of an open tone, but they're also not as fat. You can play louder, but the tone quality suffers a little bit if you overblow. It's so hard to overblow on kings. The thing is TBI is playing to short and pinched. Norfolk sounds bigger becuase they give their notes their full value. They only play them a little short to add to that "bounce" feel, like you're supposed to do. Otherwise it sounds pitchless. Both sections sounded good.

I questioned the validity of KillaPhi2K11's claim dat Redan created the the last fanfare that SCSU played...I didnt even go to Redan so it seems to me that ur comment needs to be directed to KillaPhi2K11...NOT ME!!!!!
