sitting the 1000% isn't very possible since they still have a lean to them. Id keep them standing. Doesn't stress the joints either. Congrats. im on 13 of these sizes. its a chore to find storage for the boxes. Tip on getting them out. use your feet to clinch the bottom of the box and just pull up on the foam
