@@yoitired It was having quite a bit of drop when I was sighting it in for 50 yds. There was a noticeable difference in trajectory between the 21gr JTS pellets and the few remaining 18gr JSB pellets I tried at that range. But, as long as they hit where I’m aiming, the trajectory doesn’t bother me.

Hi Buddy! I agree, this rifle has potential. Find the right domed pellet with a nice tight fit you can easy push in with your finger. JSB offer different head size pellets in a test box to try. I see at the can that the ZRS has plenty of knock down power 😁 Cheers!

@@rapalaron6348 I’ve never paid attention to head size before as Amazon doesn’t seem to list that info. Or at least I’d not noticed. I’ll have to pay closer attention in the future. When I was sighting in for 50 yds I was definitely seeing the pellet drop with the 21gr JTS’s. I briefly tried some 18gr JSB’s but I hardly have any left. I’ve got some on order though. I’ll have to see if Amazon carries the test box. I can’t bring myself to getting ripped off on shipping by Pyramid or Airgun Depot. If they’d just put the damn pellets in a flat rate box it’d be way more reasonable in cost to me.

@@airgunsofalaska My HW's shoot the best with Exacts with 4.52-4.53-5.52 and 5.53 mm. head size. HW's like a tight fit, and after testing and other guy's recommendation on YT i bought the pellets in bulk with the same batch number for consistency. There can be difference in batch i found out. Buying bulk is expensive but you only have once the shipping kosts. Last year i bought for about 900 dollar pellets, this was also because there where EU plans to forbid lead. If this would have been law i could have dumped my airguns in the lake because there is no good alternative. I continue buy bulk until i have enough at home to become 90 years old 😆Cheers!

Building a solid, repeatable shooting position has always seemed to yield better performance and interface between me and the rifle regardless what I’m shooting. That appears to be a good shooting break barrel. Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@motorgearhead I was surprised by how much more stable I was. I usually can’t do that as most guns recoil a bit. Last night I took this gun apart to see what it looked like. It’s a refreshingly simple system that allows it to recoil. The round, yellow colored bushing they told me that might need replacement at 3000+ shots is easy to get to and remove/replace. I suspect you could twist it a 1/4 turn and then put wear on the untouched sides and that’d last a good long while. I can’t see that part costing very much. I’ve received some excellent advice on pellet head size from some viewers and think that’s going to be the key to consistent accuracy with this gun.
@charlesoutdoors2424Ай бұрын
Glad to see some decent groups. Personally I don't feel that gun has near the powerplant for 25-26 grain pellets. That's a lot for The Gamo and Hatsan Magnums to handle. You having the 54 Air King puts you in the perfect position to test the 2 Recoilless spring guns on the market side by side.
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@charlesoutdoors2424 I was thinking that too as I saw quite a bit of trajectory drop at 50 yds with the 21 grain pellets. I’m planning to compare it side by side to my Air King once I get it dialed in accuracy wise. I feel like I’m almost there. 😄
@charlesoutdoors2424Ай бұрын
@@airgunsofalaska I could hear the time it took for the pellet to reach those cans at 50 yards, then seen it was 21 grain pellets and understood why. That ZRS would be the perfect scopecam piston gun and that was my plans for it. I been testing a scope cam that can handle at least 14-15 FPE piston gun recoil, if I can get the view through the scope the way I want it.

Here is something that I did today,the crosman premier hollow point that my gun likes to shoot 14.3 grain,I took the tin that I was using and weighed and separated them in their own tins.The way it came out was a range of different weights from 14.1 -14.6 grains.Out of the same tin that I had been using were 103 pellets at 14.2 grains,208 pellets at 14.3 grains,109 pellets at 14.4 grains and 15 pellets that were 14.1 and 14.5 mixed.Did it make and difference ,YES,the 6 groups that I shot were tighter groups, and get this ,NO FLYERS,imagine that.

Nice shooting Scott! It looks like you're figuring this Norica Out. So without chamfering the breech to get a variety of pellets to fit properly, it looks like you're going to have to find heavier pellets in the smaller 5..48..to 5.51 head size. Most .22 caliber pellets are made in 5.52 to 5.55 head size. This sort of makes sense with your Crosman pellets working for a while an then not. You probably found some of the smaller head sized pellets of those Crosman tins. I know you can order JSB pellets in head size. H&N "Barracuda Match" 21g pellets too. or buy a pellet sizer? Good Luck
@airgunsofalaskaАй бұрын
@@gmanneod8085 Thanks for the info. That makes a lot more sense as to why some pellets push easily into the breech and others are a bear. Amazon (where I buy most of my pellets) rarely offers the head size info. I’ll have to pay closer attention the next time I order.

@ We get big wind storms like this throughout the winter. The winds blow down the glaciers and out of their canyons and cause damage at times. This wind storm tore up the fabric cover on my Dad’s side by side. At the airport, the wind picks up small amounts of gravel that was spread over the icy parking lot and chips vehicle paint and can break car windows. Roofs get damaged, trees sometime blow down, etc. I don’t care for the high winds and have found I dislike them more and more as I get older. Fortunately they are not sustained speeds like 70 mph or we’d have a ton more damage.
