I was hitting a target at 300 yards with mine, only shot about 100 rounds so far. I think it was worth 700 bucks. Of course I put a scope on mine. Great review.

@roy993 To be honest I have only shot 55 grainers in it. mostly re-loads. With the 1-9 twist the 62 grainers should work well out farther then the 55 grainers. Up close they will have less velocity though.

I owne 2 norinco firearms, both are excellent firearms. I had a little problem with buying chinese but after getting my first and shooting them its pretty good.

@cmaca345 my cmmg kit came from questar, they are great guys and reasonable prices. There is a letter floating around from the RCMP stating the 10 rounder are legal, it should be on questar's site somewhere, so in other words, yes, the pistol 10 rd mags are legit.

I haven't fired one (sadly, no new Norinco imports to the U.S.), but from all the Canadian reviews that I've watched, it's not a bad choice for an affordable or entry level AR-15 rifle. I guess the American equivalent for the price range would be the DPMS Oracle, the M & P 15 sporter, or now Anderson Arms out of Kentucky, maybe Delton.

I was deciding on buying this AR 15 or ghe cz but from what I've heard the RCMP wants to reclassify the cz to prohibited because its resemblance to the AK. That means anyone with a cz or vz would have to turn theirs in with no compensation or face 3 years in jail

Sadly, all AR varianta are restricted in Canada, including the 20" barrelled version.

I would not feel bad because its a Norinco.I live in the US and wish Norinco could be sold here.You can get used ones but no new imports.I own several Norinco guns AK's,45acp and a 22.Work great.You said 700 bucks for m4 Norinco you got,well if Canada allows it order you a Bushmaster lower and then a AR kit,thats what I did and I got less than 600 dollars in it because I built it myself.

hear you bro. here in canada when you buy a restricted firearm you need to do some paperwork too. as it is right now, it will probably take me 2months before i can shoot my AR and m&p 9mm from the date i bought it. at least you guys can buy a AR and take it home right away

Hey man. I have the same gun. Same mags RRA are not bad at all. Put a quad and vert grip on it as well. Only taken it out once and it kicks ass. The only thing is the finish isn't as good as the best ar's but its not far off the lower end ones. Do you have a problem with JHP? I find mine needs only FMJ but maybe its not broken in yet. Its flawless with them but will bottom out with the JHP. But I think its cause it doesn't have a significant ramp. Great gun for the money though.

It's a Norinco, but it's actually a good quality rifle. Mine only jammed once and that's when I first bought n took it out of the box, I didn't clean or oil. My brother was in the marine corps, he says it's a good rifle

Thanks for the info. Hypothetically, if you're transporting or using your M4 type with the CMMG bolt installed and the .22 mag, and you don't have access to the 5.56 bolt or mag, is it still restricted in terms of transport and/or use?

Thinking of picking up one of these, is yours the "CQ A" model? How has of bolt assembly held up afterv shooting. Do you know if you can fit after market parts on this rifle.

@cmaca345 Yes, since the Serial is what counts....the fool libirals deciided AR's are scary, so no matter what you do it, it will be restricted. I would say, if you have money, go get a XCR, or a F2000, TAR 21.

Got me a Norinco m14 and a para.45 coming next week. The goddamn paperwork finally cleared. Didnt believe em when they said 3 months for applications to be processed, but 3 months it was. How has the M4 treated you so far? Its next on the list after I break these toys in. Still a good deal?

Hello Ignerence Was hoping you would be able to tell which cmmg conversion kit you recommend for the norinco m4...There is 5 of them and i was hoping you would be able to help me with which one you got and liked so well..The five different ones that they offer are the india, echo,bravo, alpha, and left handed..the india is 320 dollars and goes down to 189.00... any help would be greatly appreciated!! I am thinking on buying this rifle. Can you tell me what is the best ammo for it.What is your experience, is it better 55g or 62g? I plan to shoot cheep Russian ammo Barnaul 55g and 62g a lot and sometimes 5,56x45 NATO. I will upgrade it and use it for IPSC, I need to get good shoots up too 500m. Best regards from Slovenia

Ummm not sure where you got your info but as a Canadian with my PAL I know I can buy and import any american ar I want. I've got an LWRC repr in 308.

Alex K I'm about to go for my certificate to get my PAL is it worth getting restricted certification straight away or should I do it in stages as not to have it rejected? I see you have the Canadian NRA emblem there, I'm putting that on the bumper :)

frank white Get the restricted!!!! You won't regret how much time and effort you will save in the long run. Especially if you can find one of those combined courses. BTW it's the CNFA not the NRA... "Canadian National Firearms Association". But props for the support! I wish you luck getting your PAL!

@MrMetalman13 Wouldnt suggest removing teh pin :P The chances are 1 in a 1000 you would get caught, but remember murphys law. If you do get caught ever doing it Hollow there is right, you're screwed badly, all licenses and weapons gone ever more, fine and probably jail time. I'll be staying with 5/30 round mags and buying LAR pistol mags. It makes 0 sense in reality but thems the laws and I dont wanna get caught like that.

Our mags generally just have one little aluminum rivet stopping us from being "evil" and having full capacity mags. Oh, we can have 8.5" barreled pump shotguns, and 12" mad max style double barrels, you have to get a short rifle permit for that sucka! :P

I'm going to give you a life lesson, don't argue with people who know they're right. You should go read the canadian gun laws for yourself, and search this very subject. It's made very clear that magazines are classed for what they are designed for not what they're used in. Questar has a pdf'd letter of approval from the Chief of RCMP on these very mags.
