Gradually my daddy with only an 8th grade education worked at Oscar Meyers for 8 yrs and cleared parking lots in the winter time so my momma could be a stay at home mom! Eventually they started a tree removal business and did very well. All of us 5 children have built our own businesses and are doing very well. My aunt was a home maker my uncle worked and purchased the family home, they had two daughters, they divorced and my uncle put the family home in his ex wives name. She wound up remarrying a dirtbag, he moved in, my aunt got cancer, her daughter took care of her in her dying days, he kicked both daughters out of the home after her death,they were 19 and 20 and he sold the family home and kept the profits, leaving my cousins penniless

1:04:00 In this question the caller states that shes on baby step 7. She isn't, she's on baby step 2. Am I the only one that catches this? She has a mortgage, which at the very least puts her at baby step 6. She then states that she has rental properties, which have a combined debt of $400,000. Like, my sister in Christ, just because you have a couple million dollar networth doesn't mean you get to skip the baby steps. Math is still math whether you are wealthy or in debt. To the guy building the barndominum: I bet there's a lovely woman out there who would love your drive, creativity, and alternative life style of creating a home on your family property. I want to do something similar. Those barns are COOL. Spacious with lofts! It could be a sweet little starter home, debt free, to cash flow a dream home right next to it. That is more attractive than debt, than a man wanting to be normal, valuing his ego over anything else. Im surprised dave isn't more into alternative lifestyles like that. That's a unique way to fight the system and be weird.
@bettedavis9261 Жыл бұрын
I didn't take it that Dave isn't into alternative lifestyles like that, but more he was being cautionary that not all women would want that kind of adventure. He says similar things to single people buying a house...that the new spouse may not want to live there. In this case, because it's on family land, I think Dave was concerned that Dake would be that much more invested in his dream. I think it's a great dream, and if he finds someone who doesn't share that dream, well, Dake can tell her adios and find someone who does like the barndo dream.

Barndominiums are not like barns when they're done. The basic structural framing has a barn shape but I've seen some that are quite modern and fancy interiors with modern siding on the outside. Dave needs to google it and see lots of examples in a lot of styles. And the young man who wants to stay there will not likely choose even to date someone who does not share a love for living in the country.

Student loans in Canada work differently than in the states - yes it’s borrowed money but a portion is a grant based on your situation and if your income is still low when you go into repayment there are options available to you that reduce the interest to zero as well as the principal over time while still allowing you to make extra payments. As a single mom I accessed that system to get my business degree, I had government help to pay it off and when my income went up I paid off the rest. And our schools are cheaper - it isn’t the crisis it is in the states

@joshhoward1289 It's a bit more complex. PSLF is for someone working in the non profit sector only. People working for non profits generally earn less. Hes limited on time since it is a radio broadcast, with local station commercial breaks. I actually first heard him years ago in my car on a rare daytime errand! Unfortunately they don't air him anymore...

Millionaires in cars getting coffee? There will be a law suit coming georges way soon.

@@amireallythatgrumpy6508Jerry Seinfeld has a show on Netflix (debuted a few years ago) called, "Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee". It is the same exact concept. Exact. I was so surprised when George and his team copied the exact same title!. George seems way more innovative than to copy someone else's product. Maybe George will read this and explain.

Why? George is a millionaire and Dave is a multi millionaire. Thus, millionaires in cars getting coffee. Am I wrong?

They don't even drink the coffee in the car so don't think you have a case lol

I love the calls where people make $300k, have millions in property, and are having trouble spending all of their money 😂 - blows my mind. Good flex though.

Poor guy chris. Honestly, at that age, I would file bankruptcy not pay one dime for that house. I don't know how much are the debt he is owing but I would get out of the situation now. Because they going to end up losing money while they sell the house more than taxes, they also have to pay commission and paperwork
@MsValiG Жыл бұрын
Not to mention the audacity of her asking him to pay half but denying him the right to live in the house only this would set me on fire. She knew very well she's just going to use him to get herself into a house, that was not a sudden decision

This culture is totally messed up . Imagine being a single Dad . Not mom . Single dad . Not easy in this “culture “ guys .
@jasminesuarez8358 Жыл бұрын
In some ways single dads get more support because they feel they need help and guidance doing a "mother's/woman's job" and single moms are expected to be great mothers from birth and are expected to know everything. Each position has their own troubles.

Starting salary in Ontario was $100,000 then minus 45% in taxes single, 40% married. My house in Pooler, GA. now here $220,000. Suburbs of Toronto 4 million. DO THE MATH. I was tired of eating strawberries for dinner in Kingston so my husband who worked at the planet could have the one decent meal.
