I own property on the other side of Australia. If a pipe leaks, I send a plumber. I have never been to the other side of Australia before. I pay a manager to look after the tenants and property. I get $2000 per month in rent and the loan is $1200. I paid $300k for the house 2yrs ago and it's worth $440k today. It's easy.

Totally agree. They need to specify that in order to have the benefits long term of rental properties, you need significant margin and possible help with the management of them. Instead, Dave points out how much money he has in real estate while neglecting to provide a few significant details. You can bet he’s not running from property to property, collecting rent checks and finding tenants. It’s a bit arrogant. It’s possible for anyone to become a multi property owner but it needs to be done with the slow, steady, grounded approach and eyes wide open.

Okay. We have been blessed with both sons and daughters. As a woman, I don’t know that I can take much more of the mollycoddling of my gender on the Ramsey show. Stop treating women as fragile beings, incapable of managing Life in general. It feeds into the notion that as women, we can never get ahead or catch a break. Women are resilient, responsible and more than capable of creating a fulfilling life both with or Without a partner. If Cori had been a male and called into the show, still living with a Mother at 45, we would never have heard the end of it. Just Stop.

If he makes less than $18 an hour then his lack of support could also be because he's uncomfortable with you making more than him.

Mathematically we could not pay off the debt, ever! They borrowed all the notes(dollars ) into existence. Where does the interest come from? It doesn’t exist! It is impossible to mathematically satisfy a ponzi scheme.

I honestly don't see a problem with living in your mom's house if you are significantly contributing to the bills. If the mom is alone especially.

Well, I did not fit the mold. I still had a mortgage at 2.4% and 30 years tp gp. However the part that made me a net millionaire, was the401K and my brokerage account. As I held that mortgage for 19 more years, I continued to pour cash into both accounts while paying off the home as slow as possible. and yes when we sold the house for 585K, there was 1 million in the brokerage account and 4.5 million in the 401K.

My daughter's family live on my same street. My house is equivalent to theirs but costs $850 less per month because I got here first and secured a lower interest rate. I also make more money from my dearly departed husband's pension than her husband with a full time job and she a halftime job. So yes, I help them out. I want them to live in a safe neighborhood and have a good school district for my grandkids and be close by me since I'm widowed and have health issues. They're thankful for my presence in their lives and I'm thankful for theirs in mine. You cannot convince me this is a bad arrangement. Sorry Dave.

I've seen this question on the Ramsey shows so many times, yet they've only ACTUALLY answered the question once or twice. It's about the mindset, and the idea that if you're using someone else's money (credit), you will spend more money than if you were using YOUR money. The Ramsey method is about ZERO credit cards, ZERO credit score. The Ramsey method it to pay CASH for everything. The only acceptable debt is a home mortgage, and that should be limited (15-year fixed, no more than 1/4 of your monthly income, IIRC). That works for them. That doesn't work for everyone. If you think you have the discipline to use your cards for everything, keep ZERO balance (while also NOT over-spending), and use your points for fun stuff... good for you. Stop asking Lord Ramsey for permission, because you'll never get it.

They're both afraid of using cash for purchases. I'm sure they wouldn't be able to pay for everything using their own cash income.

Mam, Canadians pay for their dental out of pocket. Many Canadian retirees stay in Yuma, Arizona in the winter and walk across the border into Los Algadones to have their teeth fixed. Many self employed American citizens go there also. What do they get? U.S. trained dentists with state of the art equipment. And yes, they save a bundle getting their work done.

What he never talks about is sacrificing your cash position by tying up your capital in bricks and mortar. Also, this assumes that you don’t plan on moving in the short term and that the equity will still be there when you’re ready to move. The reality is that this decision is more nuanced than he is willing to admit.

20%🤯. In Europe we pay normal salary’s and tax is included in the price. We don’t allow for this credit system where you never know what your gonna pay and than leave huge tip because it’s expected on your credit card, just to sweat to pay at the end of the month🤯

Went years end years with a paid off truck and finally got sick of the expensive ass diesel repair costs. Would've gotten another used Diesel but it's such a crap shoot not knowing how the previous owner drove the truck
