every serial killer has the most horrendous childhood, how can you cope with things like that at 4 or 5 years old without going completely mad for the rest of your life.

For me, what made Norman Bates so chilling is that he looks like the "boy next door" who would be the last person on earth that you think would become a serial killer and I think this is due to that also being Anthony Perkins personae when he played him orignally
