Norman played dobro on some early seminal recordings (including Doc Watson stuff) before the era of Mike Auldridge and Jerry Douglas

WoW, what a legendary dobro player. Norman Blake's dobro playing on many of Johnny Cash's 1960s recordings is simply fantastic.

He creates such beautiful sounds with this instrument and makes it look easy. I do not think it is easy

Yes, it's from Saturday June 2nd, 2012. A rare performance indeed. I was very fortunate to not only attend, but to record a few tunes.

Great song well played. Norman's dobro playing is perfect. I wish the sound quality was better. Thumbs up anyway.

Yeah, the audio isn't great. Recorded with a Samsung Galaxy S7 Active. At least I was able to sit close. :)

I would like to thank everyone that has hit the "like" button on this video. I'm not a "KZbinr" per say, so I haven't monetized this channel, but in the near future, I would like too, because I'll be living on social security when I retire and it would be very advantageous if I could supplement my meager income with a few KZbin bucks. So please, if you could, like and subscribe to my channel.

So as write Dan Frechette "I love Norman Blake; He inspired me and my -on acoustic Martin guitars- lead guitar technique about the LP "Red Rector and Norman Blake" -you can find on KZbin- For information to all KZbin subsribers : Norman Blake played nice dobro on the 1972 "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band)

Is this a recent performance? If so, it's good to see that he's still out there playing gigs.

What do you expect from an audience member sitting on the floor, 10 years ago, recording with a hand help samsung Galaxy S7. And out of the current 39,133 views, you're the only one to bitch about it. What a sad ass life you lead.

Stick to the flat top, Norman.

Wouldnt be the Wabash Cannonball without a dobro.

Merlyn Schutterle If you don't like the dobro, why are you watching? Norman Blake is one of the most revered dobro players ever.
@merlynschutterle72422 жыл бұрын
@@t4texastom587 I like the resonator guitar. I used to play one myself. Norman is a pretty good resonator player, but his flat top is much better. Play what you play best. I can play the same tones as Blake on the flat top, but I can't make it sound like Blake.
