I knew Norman from playing football with him on Walverden Park in Nelson in the mid 70's. What these lads are saying is true, he really was a kind friendly guy. I liked him a lot. About as wide as he was tall. You could tell he could handle himself, but he never gave off that bully vibe that some people do. When I knew him he was just getting friendly with Chelsea and had been invited to join them or some such malarkey. He was a bit in awe of them to be honest. I liked him, He was a good bloke.

I met him in Lancaster castle... he used to bend metal trays with his bare toes lol... I'm from blackburn and I have to say, Norman jones was a top man. absolutely gutted to hear he has passed. r.i.p Norman rest well 💙

Used to work with Norman when I were 17 crazy guy I remember some one smashed his car window so he used to drive around with the window smashed, then when I was in my 20s used to see him out in Burnley round the night clubs. RIP Norman

First time i ever saw Norman was way back in 1982 and we were playing Blackburn on Turf Moor and he ran on the pitch wearing a sheepskin coat and got right in the face of one of the Blackburn players. Got arrested and chucked out of Turf Moor. he served well over 20 years in jail in America for murder. small solid package but as tough as they come.

I was at that match. 1982-83. Squared up to a Blackburn player. The police got hold of him, four of the c0nts, an arm and leg each, but Norman wasnt put off. He broke free, right in front of the Longside and swung a meaty arm at one of the c0nts. UTC
