What a fantastic guy, I’m sure the players will run through brick walls for him, so positive. I’ve followed the Clarets for 62 years and never felt so excited at the start of a new season, last Friday was so entertaining and as the weeks progress performances will only get better as this new group get to know each other. We the fans have our part to play also, the Turf needs to become that intimidating place where the opposition is not looking forward to coming because the noise and never ending support will blow them away. Can’t wait for Saturday.

Bloody hell. A few points: His English is amazingly good. Better than a lot of British managers. Got the right balance between respect for the existing players and the new ones. Got everything right. I'm quite surprised by some of the comments. I like Kompany's respectful tone and self-deprecating manner, but his speech is just common sense. Hard work, high expectations and taking responsibility for your successes and your failures; not rocket science. The problem is that real leadership is a dying art form - we see it at work and in the family, undoubtedly the two most important social structures in society. Leadership isn't about pleasing everybody or making everybody happy it's about uniting people under a common goal; sometimes having to make difficult decisions for the good of everybody. You only have to look at the government and MPs in general how poor we are led. Very few of them would be successful football managers!
