I know this is a joke, but I was really going to ask about this. Are sitars like this by design? Is the action bad on purpose? Like I have no idea why it produces the sound it does.

Chris S The frets being bad is not what creates the sound. It’s a special bridge that vibrates the strings to make it sound like a sitar

I remember playing one of those on a "test drive" at a local guitar store. It was the bridge that produced the distinctive "buzz". The originals also had a little bracket that attached to the bottom of the guitar so that it would rest comfortably on your thigh.

I actually think that sounds better than Coral Sitars. Not sure why. and 500 is actually a good price. Glad to see this series is getting back to the real cool affordable shit without the ego. Keep it up, Lemmo.

I get a little George Harrison solo vibe from it and also the Indian " Middle Eastern band that was at Woodstock. This is a good show -so far, it has showed some ecclectic guitars. That is good.

Danelectro made a baby sitar just like the one you're playing, before the Coral. Nice though, love the playing. No "Paint it Black" or Norwegian Wood." Keep up the great work!

Surprised how sitar-like it sounds. If they made one with raises frets to bend the note to high hell by pushing them harder, I'd be all over this.

Yep that’s because one of the Beatles was trained in India to play Sitar and decided to bring the instrument into popular western music in that song.

Steps to make a regular guitar sound like a citar: 1. by the most cheap/garbage electric guitar of all time! 2. Turn the treble and mids up to 10 and play!!

I believe scalloped microtonal frets would give it a more Eastern sound; I am considering making a Sitar Guitar I hope it goes well lol

Not sure if it was the instrument or Lemmo's playing, but I think I preferred the sound of of the Danelectro over the Coral.

Yup affordable... But I find them oddly expensive while having so little going on compared to other Danelectro guitars... I can get a baritone for the same price
