Proud to say I saw Albert play with Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, and Johnny Winter on June 12, 1979 at the old Chicago Stadium. Amazing show!

I was at the London gig. Great night. Vince showed up with an acoustic but left his tele behind - so no hot licks fireworks. Albert’s son Wayne showed he is a demon on keyboards. Daughter Alex and dad did “Let it Be me” and granddaughters performed “Crying in the rain”. A real family affair

@@woodlakesound definitely not masterfully. he sounds terrible, and the way hes picking with his whole arm and shoulder now is infinitely worse than what got him in this situation in the first place. there are so many things he could do differently, and he has chosen the absolute worst workaround possible.

@@albertfish69 you might be right, I was just trying to put a happy face on it. I haven’t listened to much of his recent playing, just one clip and it sound fine to me. Looked awkward as hell though. I just listen to the old stuff when I get in the mood. Is he okay when’s he’s not cranking out 16th note runs, etc.? Has he lost his musicality or just his flash?

@@woodlakesound anything with even low level picking hes sloppy as hell and completely falls apart. its the most frustrating thing ever, i wanted to reach through the computer and choke him during the beato interview. he was my first guitar/music god, and even though we all know he'll never be 70s-80s steve morse again, he is just injuring himself way worse now. when i first started playing, i picked kind of like hes doing now and it nearly destroyed my hand for good very quickly. if he would (god forbid) try sweeping/economy picking that would help. his left hand looks great still, but it seems like he would rather self immolate than even attempt legato playing. it makes no sense. i made a quick video of 'tumeni notes' for some guitar kids to show how sweeping it is way easier on the right hand than alt picking it. nobody could tell a difference. beato asked him if he can play that song now and he essentially said no way in hell, but he might try fingerpicking it(?!).

Saw Albert playing in the Salutation Hotel Perth Scotland. After the show, he stopped at every table and chatted away. Sat at our table for 20 minutes. What a great guy he is. So talented and humble.
