Thanks! You helped me figure out how to change the spring. I was confused by the allen key because I couldn't find a hex slot. Didn't realize it's just used for leverage, clever idea.

After a couple of weeks the larger thread that is on the handle end of the brass component stayed in the handle. This means you can no longer assemble the tamper again. Luckily it was the last day of my returns window. Never again for this price, but alovely tamper to look at.

You are supposed to press it all the way down until the handle meets the level plate,,thats how you get the same every time, it wont tamp harder than the spring that's in it,

The outer ring requires little force to compress so you can place this on a scale and push down on it. It reaches 25lb pressure at a certain distance of press. If you press until it meets the plate, it likely went over. Try measuring the pressure under the main tamp, I did.

@@BeatTheBushDIY It wont go over 25 if you have the 25 spring in there regardless of how far you push it, thats how it works lol

@@barjee Yep! You're supposed to press it all the way down lmao. If you're reading this be sure to press until you hit the bottom because the tamper is already calibrated based on the spring you've got inside :D

To change the spring, unscrew the handle first.

Thank you! Just got mine today. Quick question. If its supposed to be 30 pounds of pressure - why don;t we just use the 30 pound spring? Why is there a 15 & 25 - I put in the 30 after trying the 25 - 25 was easier but I jsut want to do what Im supposed to - THANKS!!!

Each spring ranges in amount of pressure you can put on the puck, it is not 'maximum' pressure or that it will stop at the said weight.

is the bench/counter you tamp on leveled or does it slope? You need a flat surface to tamp flat.

This device is auto leveling. I would just look at all the parts and see what is not leveled.

But can you use it while changing the amount of coffe you use. Lets say you want a stronger coffee so you put more in your portafilter, will it still work ?

Yes. However, the depth at which you press it to get the same pressure will be less.
