Yeah everything Chris said about homophobia in the black community is 100% truth HOWEVER HE LEFT OUT THE WHOLE RELIGIOUS PART. The Black community has a hell of a lot of religious people. And religious people sure know how to use their love and acceptance their religion is founded on to oust entire groups of people. And combined with what Chris said is why homophobia is deeply engrained in the black community. And it isn’t only men who are homophobic….women out here being all sorts of homophobic.

@@dwnturn There are pro’s and cons of Christianity just like there is with every other religion. However that doesn’t make it a terrible thing. People turn to religion for many different reasons. This “terrible thing” has saved so many lives. And unfortunately some people within the community are very ignorant and close minded to today’s society, and so they use their religion as a defense or cover up for their flawed views on certain things. That being said, I am Christian, but I see no problem with lil nas or anything he’s doing. He’s not hurting anyone, he makes good music, and he’s very creative. You gotta respect it. The bulk of the other reaction vids are terrified males covering their eyes like little girls at a horror movie. One gentleman was afraid to touch his own keyboard after he paused the shower scene. It’s so sad. Phobia = fear. So many men (and not a few women) shrieking “I’m wasn’t ready for THAT.” Well folks, ready or not, Lil Nas X and his crew are moving forward to make the world a friendlier place. Thanks !!!

When so many people have a problem with a music video for it having representation, you know it’s causing change. Thanks for being allies, there are so many straight guys who are too insecure in themselves and so homophobic that they can’t even bring themselves to look at Male sexuality/bodies that aren’t theirs. ❤️
@thebatmanwhoposts96003 жыл бұрын
I don't think that's homophobia, if a straight conservative has a problem with W.A.P. or Anaconda does that mean he's not straight and insecure about his sexuality?
@jonteguy3 жыл бұрын
@@thebatmanwhoposts9600 Don't try, people like Dan B don't get it, they think everyone who dislikes something is insecure about the subject at hand. It's the only tangible argument for them. I don't mind the music video at all, I don't mind gay people in the slightest. I just think some people have strange takes, like this dude. "You dislike this so you must be insecure." Sure. Or you know, their values are different and they simply don't agree. They can be in the wrong, but that doesn't mean they are insecure, you can be just simply WRONG as well.
@Dan-B3 жыл бұрын
@@jonteguy Thanks for not giving me the benefit of the doubt, especially when you’re quoting things that I didn’t say :P I never said “dislike”, everyone has personal taste. What IS homophobic is literally having a fear of being seen as “gay” (inferring that would be a negative) to the point of not even being able to look in someone’s direction. I’m basing this on what is evidential in reactions of platforms like KZbin, and personal experiences. I’m happy to have a discussion, but let’s use factual points rather than jumping to conclusions and pretences, because discourse becomes pointless and unproductive as a whole if the points being made are based on something untrue.
@Dan-B3 жыл бұрын
@@thebatmanwhoposts9600 In theory yes, but in reality heterophobia isn’t something that really exists. Similar to reverse racism (I.e. racism against white people is possible in theory, but if you look at the world we live in, there aren’t problems with white people being oppressed) If anything queer people are usually more likely to support female sexuality, since both women and queer people are often targets of discrimination in regards to their freedom of expression. I use “Homophobia” referring to whatever narrative people have been taught, that causes them to not want to be seen even looking at anything “gay” (which is a phobia; irrational fear, since it has nothing to do with a persons sexuality to engage with others.)
@thebatmanwhoposts96003 жыл бұрын
@@jonteguy well said, if anything imo instantly jumping to "you're insecure if you don't like this" shows insecurity. As if the idea of anyone not liking the same thing you do is unheard of and impossible. It shows a lack of maturity to understand not everyone feels the same way you do.
