Its really awesome to see these cobbled together norns

That was my first prototype :) This has since turned into a DIY Norns kit here: denki-oto.weebly.com

@@nevetsokyeron oh jeeze I didn't make the connection, you made fates! I like the idea you added an extra knob for orac compatibility :)

This is perfect! I’m building a TT at the moment so I’m really interested in getting Norns running on a Pi without investing in a Pi sound as those playing with it at the moment are. Are the TT mods documented over at lines? Looks like you’ve rewired pots to be the encoders?

No real documentation on this yet aside from some build notes for linux. FWIW - this is a hack job :) Not really an easy way to swap between the TT functionality and Norns functionality. I already had all the parts for the TT, so took a bare TT pcb and populated just the DAC section, then added an extra long raspi header so I could wire other things from the top of the board. The encoders are free-wired and I'm only using the pot footprints to hold them in place. For the buttons I am using the pcb traces, but had to hack in a few pull down resistors. Power is coming from usb connector to the Pi. If you are on lines, I could send you a few references there. There's another open source dac another user is building which could be a good option as well.

This is great! Have you got a blog or a build guide?

Nope. This is pretty much a test to see if it works. Very hacked together. Eventually I may make a pcb, but that's a long way off.

what is the possibility of this developing into a modular with the terminal tedium's cv inputs and outputs becoming basically like built in crow functionality

Really nice video! Do you still have the RPI3+ image that you are using in this video? Im very new to the raspberry pi and im having a pretty hard time making the norns image work.

No image yet. There's a big thread on the lines forum which should help. It kinda depends on if you're trying to get an OLED display working or not (that being one of the tricky bits) If not, it' pretty straightforward to use the stock stretch kernel to start.

@@nevetsokyeron for now im not thinking of using a display except if it is unusable to not have one. The problem is that I tried to make it in the raspbian stretch lite, but I got stuck when I got to "make menuconfig". And even if I got this command working I still wouldn't know how to proceed. So thats why im trying to find just the .img file instead of building it myself.

@@defavltt for the moment there's not a ready to use img file. I've had to re-compile linux like a 100 times so far. :)

Any advice on where to start with porting the Norns software to RasPi?
